Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Polygraph is this cool device that we all enjoy watching in spy and thriller movies, invented about 100 years ago. Traditionally courts don't (maybe somewhere they do) admit its results as evidence in criminal cases, however the device is not abandoned and is being used in multiple fields from auxiliary help in investigations to pre-work testing. It's accuracy deviation is claimed to be no more than 10%.
Do you, guys, believe in its precision? Can other emotions be mechanically monitored and detected? Anyone working on love detector? -:)

Kevin Kuhn (kevinkuhn) | 45 comments Did you hear this one?

A father buys a lie detector robot that slaps people when they lie. He decides to test it out at dinner one night. The father asks his son what he did that afternoon. The son says, "I did some homework." The robot slaps the son. The son says, "Ok, Ok, I was at a friend's house watching movies." Dad asks, "What movie did you watch?" Son says, "Toy Story." The robot slaps the son. Son says, "Ok, Ok, we were watching p*rn." Dad says, "What? At your age I didn't even know what p*rn was." The robot slaps the father. Mom laughs and says, "Well, he certainly is your son." The robot slaps the mother.

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 8073 comments Lie/Love detectors would make life easier, I guess, but much less interesting.

Nik Krasno | 19850 comments Do you think a thought detector is maybe about to be introduced into the market for a selected narrow group of customers?
