A place for suggestions.

Gillian | 229 comments Would memoirs count for this square since it says book about immigrating to Canada and not a novel? I know there's a number of good memoirs out there about the impact of immigrating to Canada.

This is one of a small few I'm considering for this square. Glad to see a couple of you liked it.

Barbara McEwen (babsbookobsession) | 215 comments I am contemplating Intolerable: A Memoir of Extremes and The Hero's Walk. I am sure I have some others kicking around my TBR pile too.

Mj @ Barbara - I quite enjoyed Intolerable (but confess to being a big memoir fan.) It got mixed reviews however and many others didn't seem to like it as much. It would qualify as LGBTQ as well and a number of other squares. The author has a new book out called Brown: What Being Brown in the World Today Means. The Hero's Walk is a wonderful book and could be used for several squares as well. Not sure how suited it is to Immigrating to Canada but others who have also read it may feel totally differently.

Kristen | 32 comments @Barbara, MJ, I'm currently reading Intolerable and I quite enjoy it so far. I would say it's a nice quick read, and because it's also LGBTQ it's a great read for Bingo.

Barbara McEwen (babsbookobsession) | 215 comments I have been enjoying memoirs a lot lately too. They are a nice change for a huge fiction lover! Glad to hear people found Intolerable a good read, it does sound interesting. I wasn't sure about Hero's Walk. I try not to read the blurbs too closely because I like the stories to be a surprise, so I just read about a daughter that comes to Canada. Thanks for the input!
