We want to know who the real addicts are! Boast about how many books you've read this year alone.

Krysta (krystafig) | 4089 comments Well I don't think I come anywhere near some people in this group, but this year I've finished 25 books, and I'm currently reading 2.

You remind me of the commercial: an apple a day... But with you it's a book a day! WOW!

message 7: by Heidi R. (new)

Heidi R. | 8 comments Um, 116 with a goal of 275 - I'm 9 books ahead of the goal. May make my goal 300 if I keep this up.

Teya (teyanna) | 32 comments 73.
But I have a question to the hardcore readers – how do you remember anything with such a tempo?

message 11: by Holly (new)

Holly (squareconverse) 45, but I have the same question as Teya. Even at my pace I have trouble remembering the character's name after a week or so at the most.

message 12: by Jenn (new)

Jenn I'm at 37 books read this year so far. My goal is at 75 but I think I'm going to have to increase that goal

message 13: by Jenn (new)

I third that question!
How do you really get the details and remember them when you speed trhrough the book so fast?

Chris (bibliophile85) | 24 comments Since the beginning of January I have read 24 books, the smallest being 290 pages and the largest being 760. I'd love to be reading more, but work, my own writing and my SO keep me busy :)

message 17: by Jenn (new)

Jenn For me it's the characters that make a HUGE impression on me. For example, I first read Maggie Shayne's books years ago but I still remember all her vampires and their stories. Plus I have an issue where I remember names, faces and numbers forever. It helps me in my job but it can be annoying at times

message 18: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Just finished my 40th book, starting 41st

message 19: by Richard (new)

Richard E. (richardejohns) | 69 comments only 20 so far out of a hundred, so far. When I read, the book turns into a movie, so the characters and action Stay in my memory longer.
then months later, If I bump into someone and they ask about a book or character, I'll 'usually' remember.
I can it 'Encyclopedia of Useless information.

Downside: Sometimes reading thru a Story, I will read a passage and Think: " STOP, I've have read something like this before!"
then the encycly will pull out Books and movies with the same type of characters or a movies that hits the same high points.

Only One book so far THIS Year.

message 20: by Charlene (new)

Charlene To date, 44. I usually end up around 110. I have a pretty good memory especially if the books mean something to me. Maggie Shayne's books were mentioned above and I couldn't agree with Jenn more. The characters were so intertwined in over 20 books in the series, so they became friends more than just characters. We watched them grow and age. We experienced their passions and their flaws. I've read other books that I couldn't even write a review for because they were forgettable as soon as the last page was read.

message 21: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Just finished 41st book.

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 216 comments I'm on book 22 this year. I haven't been able to read as much as I would have liked since I have changed jobs but I hope to read more this summer.

I've only read 24 so far this year... I used to read a book a day, however, since I began writing again I don't get to read as much as I used to.
