Not a librarian but I am a huge graphic novel/manga fan.

Preludes & Nocturnes Neil Gaiman's Sandman is simply excellent (though rather adult in nature)

Fullmetal Alchemist, Vol. 1 Fullmetal Alchemist by Hirmou Arakawa is probably my favorite manga (and that's me picking from 30 years of reading manga).

I'm not sure if I can share my graphic novel shelf but if this link works there's plenty there to browse (and if it works you can probably get to my manga shelf from there.
