A book with a subtitle

Good! At least I know I'm not alone!

I wouldn't say putting the words "A novel of suspense" after the title constitutes a subtitle. A lot of books will say "Title: A Novel", but that's not really a subtitle, more of a descriptor of sorts. Perhaps there's another book you could use for this? Maybe something nonfiction you've been wanting to read? They often seem to have subtitles. Just a suggestion! Happy reading!

Ooh (off topic, but...) what are some of the "must see" classic movies? I've been putting together a list of classics to watch with my kids.
Actually, I just put it on hold at my library, so no need to list any! Thanks for telling us about this book :-)

I don't know what the book recommends, but depending on the ages of your kids, I highly recommend In the Heat of the Night. It's superbly written and acted, and represents a watershed moment in the movement for black rights. My brother and I watched it on a whim knowing next to nothing about it, and almost fell off the couch during One Significant Scene! That was four years ago and we still talk about it sometimes, which I consider the mark of a truly great experience.

Hi there!! I was wondering whether Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann would work. What do you think? Btw I'm loving it, so I'll definitely recommend it to everyone I can.

This book details the government's role in residential segregation, outlining the policies and practices that, although now outlawed, perpetuate segregation even today. It is a powerful tool. Anyone who ignorantly believes we have done enough as a society to ensure equal opportunity for black people in America should read this. We are far from done.

Yes I think so. The subtitle isn't carried through on the Goodreads title for some reason, but there is a subtitle printed on the cover, and I'd say that counts!
