I'm thinking of The Last Letter from Your Lover."

That looks interesting thank you!!

message 55: by Sofie (new)

Sofie (sostorm) | 56 comments Katie wrote: "Would Middlesex work here?"

I think that would definitely work. It's been a long time since I read it but it's set in the present but also recounts the past, the family history.

message 56: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 73 comments So many good ones on here. I'm thinking Fates and Furies. And I may do Orphan Train as one that's been on my list for far too long!

Cindy I'm almost done with this book and I'm really enjoying it.

Caity (adivineeternity) | 164 comments I've decided to change from The Nightingale to The Scribe of Siena, which also counts for a book being published in 2017 if anybody is interested in a book for that task. I read a chapter in December because I got a digital ARC of it and really enjoyed that, so I'm looking forward to continuing this read.

Lady Brett Ashley | 12 comments I have a question. Can anyone tell me if Water Music will do for this category?

message 73: by Jen Parenti (new)

Jen Parenti | 6 comments The Girl Who Wrote in Silk was a very interesting book. It takes place in the late 1800s and present day. I just finished it before the New Year otherwise it'd be my read for the prompt!

Woman on the Edge of Time as well.

message 79: by Nicole (new)

Nicole I need a suggestion on this one. I am reading a modern. story about someone involved on a reality show where they go back to live in the 1800s.

What is you opinion on if this one counts for two time periods?

Are they time travelling to the 1800s or just living like people in the 1800s would? The former would could, but I don't think the later would, since the story is still in modern times.

message 85: by Ester (new)

Ester (wrightnow) The Pearl That Broke Its Shell

I haven't read this book but from readers comments it traces the history of two women in Afghanistan, 100 years apart. It sounds interesting and got some very good reviews.

message 87: by Haidy (new)

Haidy (thinkingoforeo) | 8 comments Conversion by Katherine Howe is set during the Salem Witch Trials and in the present

message 88: by Paige (new)

Paige Etheridge Sandman Overture is a great one for this challenge. It's set in two periods times that intertwine.

message 89: by Emily (new)

Emily Giza | 4 comments I am finishing up Paris by Edward Rutherford, and am enjoying it. His books are epic, covering centuries of humanity and history, detailing certain families' day to day lives and how they intertwine over the course of time. I also read London, similar style, just different city:-) I am doubling up on the challenge prompt of a book over 800 pages for this one. It's long but wonderful!

message 95: by Nadine in NY (new)

Nadine in NY Jones | 9693 comments Mod
I just started reading Beatriz Williams' new book, The Wicked City. I was thinking I might use it for "published in 2017" but it looks like it takes place in two time periods, so maybe I'll use it for this category (since I now have several 2017 books I want to read!)

message 96: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (meldoc) | 40 comments The Lake House by Kate Morton, or any of The Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon would work in this category.

Pioup | 54 comments Kara wrote: "I recently read a short story collection. All the stories take place in the same universe. Some take place ~30 years before the main series, some a few years after, one is about 8 years before. Wou..."

The prompt says "a book", not "a story", so I don't see why not!
