Janice (jamasc) | 59948 comments In order to participate in the 2017 Annual Challenge, you must complete this survey first.

I would recommend that you set up your own personal thread in this folder and answer the questions there. If you would prefer to maintain anonymity, you may answer them privately using a spreadsheet or word document on your computer/device. Please note that once you have answered the questions, you may not change them. We will use the honour system and trust that everyone will comply.

How will these questions relate to books? You'll have to wait until the remainder of the challenge is posted.

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Never have I looked forward to homework so much :D The challenge sounds like great fun already!

It will be so much fun reading everybody's answers to these questions :)

I read through them quickly, question about #30: I visited many countries in Europe, should I pick just one?

It's up to you. Pick one, pick two, or pick as many as you like.

Janice (jamasc) | 59948 comments I feel an evil laugh coming on....

message 5: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I have a feeling that whatever it is I'm thinking right now will get a serious twist.

Some questions make sense for the challenge, some not at all.

message 6: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59948 comments I made a minor change to the first question - you may list as many or as few of your names as you like. You need at least one.

message 7: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Exciting. I'll have a think on this and I'll submit my answers tomorrow. Is there a deadline for the answers?

message 8: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Oh and I am looking forward to being nosy reading through everyone's answers.

message 9: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments This is the first piece of homework I have actually been looking forward to completing! :)

Can't wait to have a peek at everyone's answers.

Does this apply to other questions as well? Such as favorite sport or hobby or language you want to speak, etc? Or should we just pick one?

message 11: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19180 comments I started answering these in a separate document. Some of them are difficult for me! My favorite food? Depends on my mood. lol I'm just going to have to choose one for several of the questions. :) I'm having fun filling it out.

message 12: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle | 4024 comments Kristie, number 37 is definitely the hardest! My favorite author? I might be able to pick one for each genre.

message 13: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee | 2872 comments ... I take it 'holiday' means celebration i.e. Christmas, Easter etc? (not seaside / walking holiday etc)

message 14: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19180 comments lol! I know! Favorite book, movie, author... I'm struggling with those. Some of them are easy though. Someone I miss was easy for me and others where there is really only one answer, at least for me. lol I do know people that are ambidextrous or have two different colored eyes, etc. I'm guessing different people will find different questions easy or hard.

message 15: by Peggy (last edited Nov 20, 2016 09:44AM) (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Those are exactly the ones I'm also struggling with Kristie. Also place I'd like to visit (how can I choose?) and famous person I want to meet.

message 16: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Yes some will definitely be tricky to answer especially as I'm really indecisive.

message 17: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I've done mine. Some were tricky but I got there in the end :)

message 18: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11267 comments Homework! Yay! o.O

Janice (jamasc) | 59948 comments Sarah wrote: "Exciting. I'll have a think on this and I'll submit my answers tomorrow. Is there a deadline for the answers?"

Not really. You'll need this completed before you start gophering. I will post the remainder of the challenge next Sunday. If I don't forget.

Janice (jamasc) | 59948 comments Kristie wrote: "Does this apply to other questions as well? Such as favorite sport or hobby or language you want to speak, etc? Or should we just pick one? "

I think you're safe to name multiples except where it asks for "favourite".

message 21: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee | 2872 comments Homework ready for handing in ; )

I'm intrigued

message 22: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Thanks Janice. Just been running through the questions with my partner for some additional insight.

message 23: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments A quick question about meeting someone famous - can they be fictional? As in a character from a film, series or book?

message 24: by Annerlee (new)

I hope so... mine is (at the moment)

Thanks. :) I'll just pick one of my favorites then. I'm just picking one for most of them now anyway.

You could do a fictional character, but you might make gophering pretty tough. But what's a challenge if it's too easy. Go for it.

Beth (eparks4232) | 2556 comments Ok, I'm done, and totally curious.

message 28: by Kirila (new)

Kirila | 660 comments These questions remind me of something we used to do as kids. We would prepare a pretty notebook with some questions and give it to friends to fill in. You had to answer the questions, but also draw some stuff and make "your" page in your friend's notebook pretty and unique.

message 29: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19180 comments I like that, Kirila. What a fun memory.

Funny! The book I'm currently reading has a unicorn in it. He speaks with a Scottish accent. LOL!

Lori Z | 2089 comments Homework's complete and turned in.

message 37: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 2103 comments I think I'm finished with my homework too. Some of it was quite difficult (best book...), some of it was really easy (olives? Yuk!). Looking forward to hearing the rest.

message 38: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I am loving reading everyone's answers.

My homework is complete now too.

We did the same, Kirila! It was called "Friendship Notebook".

My children still have a book like that. My daughter took hers to school today to give to her teacher.

Me, too! I really like that you get to know everyone a little better (well, supposing everyone's answers are at least a little honest;)!)

message 43: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments It's great fun looking at everyone's answers! :)

message 44: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I am very curious now what the homework will mean for us and what we will be required to read as a result. We will all have very individual and unique challenges.

message 45: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Me too! I can figure something out for some questions (like reading a book that has the thing you use every day on the cover), but have no clue about others (like having been in an accident). Oh! Maybe some are trick questions!

message 46: by Ariane (new)

Ariane | 947 comments I am curious too. So, we will have the challenge on Sunday?

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Ariane wrote: "I am curious too. So, we will have the challenge on Sunday?"

Yes, I think Janice said she will post the challenge on Sunday :) Can't wait!

message 48: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Survey filled out, that was stressful and made my grumpy! lol

message 49: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19180 comments Mine is mostly filled out, but I haven't put it in my thread just yet. I'm only having a few minutes here and there to get things done. I probably won't finish it until this weekend because we moved yesterday and we are going out of town for a few days tomorrow. I'm a bit swamped with real life. lol I'll make sure I finish before looking at the challenge though. I can't wait to gopher! I'm working on finishing this year's challenge now. Almost there!

message 50: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Burger (tammyburger) | 806 comments Filled mine in last night. Can't wait to see what's in store for us!
