John Seymour Not a lot of work for the randomizer this month. We won the Popular Vote and Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, tied for third in the Popular Vote, won the Weighted Vote.

Only 18 other books received votes this month, and when they were placed into the Randomizer, it kicked out The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test as the Random Selection.

So to recap:

Popular Vote: We, by Yevgeny Zamyatin

Weighted Vote: Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, by Jeanette Winterson

Random Selection: The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, by Tom Wolfe

So what will you be reading in December? Will you be reading one, two or three of our December BOTMs? Trying to finish the Annual Read? Finishing the Karamazov boys? Are you planning to delve into our December Calendar Read?

John Seymour I don't have any of these on my shelf, and my BOTM back log is too big, so I will work on the ones that I do have on my shelf. I hope to finish The Brothers Karamazov this month, so in addition to the December Monthly Calendar Read, I will plan on trying to work off some of my 2016 BOTM backlog.

I voted for Oranges and The Electric Kool-Aid Test (which my library has shelved in the 300's, so not a novel? Those two I will try to read and waiting to see what the Calendar read will be in December.

I have We, so it's a definite. The others will depend on whether I can get them easily in Sydney, because I don't trust Amazon in December (well, Xmas...). On first look, Oranges can easily be found, not so for the Kool-Aid. Otherwise, I will complete the Calendar Challenge and read whatever BOTMs are still in my backlog. And probably one or two sneaky short 1-point reads in the last week of December.

Tracy (tstan) | 559 comments I have Electric Koolaid Acid Test, so I'll read it. I've read the other two- Oranges is really good!

I will read We and Orange Is Not the Only Fruit plus the Calendar Challenge. I am also reading The Diary of Anne Frank with my son and I have my book club selection. I think that will hit my max for the month.

Diane | 2044 comments I have already read Oranges fairly recently, so I will not be re-reading it (I have been doing too much re-reading lately). I will definitely read We, since I own it. I may read Kool-Aid, if I am able to secure a copy in time. I will also read the Calendar book, and try to catch up on some of the BOTM's I have missed. I

Gina Andrews | 58 comments Like Kristel's, my local library has Electric Kool-Aid in the 300's section; in fact it calls it a "non-fiction novel". "We" is available as an audio book so it will be something to listen to as I take a walk or fold laundry. I had to buy "Oranges" on Amazon, but many people are selling it for 1 cent (plus $3.99 shipping). But whether or not I get around to it is another story.

MaryAnn (EmilyD1037) I am going to try to read some of
the books I missed of the year's
BOTM.

I don't have any of these for December.

Pip | 1822 comments I have only a slight chance of finishing the Annual Read but I am going to make that a priority because it won't come up again and I want to join in the discussion. I will have more time next month but past BOTMs which I have bought will take precedence.

Paula S (paula_s) | 220 comments I bought We last month so I'll make sure to read that one, and Oranges are up for a re-read. I'm half-way through The Perfume and have some of the other BotM waiting on my shelf for when I get a free moment.

Amanda Carter | 35 comments I haven't read any of these and hope my library has them.

Sushicat | 292 comments The only one on my TBR is We. I'll try for that one or any of the other BOTM of this year that I have added to my shelves...
There's no way of rescuing this year's track record... It all went south when I found myself unable to read The Jungle.

I am so far behind on my BOTM that I am not sure what I will get to but will try to read the Winterson book

Judith (jloucks) | 95 comments I'm amazed! For the first time in a very long time I have not read any of the three books selected for December! And I want to read all three.

I'm currently trying to make a dent on the list of past BOTM's that I've missed over the years but will switch to one of the December selections the first of December....haven't decided which of the three yet.

Amie (amie-b) | 80 comments I got Oranges from my library, so I will read that, and try to finish Anna Karenina by the end of the year.

Dianne | 225 comments I just requested a copy of We and amazingly Oranges was in the $1 sale at the library so I'll read that too!
