Chapters 37-END

Evelyn | 6 comments moral of this story is be true to yourself. all the drama of this story could have been avoided if she had simply followed her true feelings, rather than be manipulated by guilt of disobeying her parents. it takes real courage to be authentic. and this "heroine" kept dropping the ball, even though she had clarity about what she wanted to do and who she really loved and wanted to spend her life with. This story just shows the truth of what happens when we try to be the "good" person, doing the honorable thing. rather than follow our natural inclinations.

Evelyn | 6 comments the teacle, the magical "drug". is metaphor for how drugs offer illusion of relief, that in truth, make you vulnerable to loosing your path, getting pulled into other's dirty thinking. the wife that turned into a monster that ate people. the wife had a hungry heart, perhaps a food addiction, and the husband in trying to feed her distorted hunger, created a monster of selfishness. addictions are caused by hole in the heart. deep profound heartbreak. This whole story is about deep profound heartbreak. and the clue here is to follow inner truth, avoid being manipulated by guilt. The queen will have to open her heart again. move through hatred, resentment, guilty over ignoring her natural inclinations.

I liked this book a lot I finally finished it today took me about two weeks. I think I'm going to rate it 3.5 stars I really liked the ending. Since I knew she was going to become evil. I liked all the characters except for the royals of course and I definitely found a new book boyfriend in Jest. There where sometimes throughout the book that it was occasionally slow and took me a while to get through. But for a standalone I thought was well done.

This book was so great. Alice in Wonderland has never been my favourite, but I did like this prequel story a lot. Now I want to rewatch the old Disney movie with this story in mind!
