C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4478 comments You have until the 29th of November to post a poem and from the 30th to the 4th of December, we’ll vote for which one we thought was best!

Please post directly into the topic and not a link. Please don’t use a poem previously used in this group. Only one submission per person is allowed.

Your poem can be of any length!

This week’s topic is: Quicksilver

Thanks goes to Guy for suggesting the topic!

The rules are pretty loose. You could write a poem about anything that has to do with the subject/photo but it must relate to the topic somehow.

Have fun!

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4478 comments Just a note: In case you wonder what quicksilver is, it refers to the metal mercury or colloquially a combination of mercury and tin that is applied to the backs of mirrors. A process called "quicksilvering." (I didn't know about that second one!).

Edward Davies | 1727 comments Title : Like Quicksilver
Poet : Edward Davies

Your tears like quicksilver
Escaping when I try to stop them
Alluding my attempts to make them dry

Your tears like quicksilver
Mercurial depending on your mood
How I hate it when you cry

Author: CJ

Why is quicksilver
so beautiful to see?

Yet in match with its looks
be ever so deadly?

Why is there peril
behind loving legend?

To every response
is a siren call's dead end?
