Patrick, Maggie's half brother, is now living with her. Were you surprised they'd taken this step? From what we know of her, why would Maggie pursue this relationship?

I wasn't that surprised. They both seemed to want the connection in previous books.

Maggie is lonely even though she won't admit it. It suited her that Patrick was the one to tack the overt step and ask if he could stay with her.

I was surprised they'd made this much progress to be living together.

Maggie is indeed lonely, by self-imposed choice. I think she's looking for family since Mom is a bust.

Kathleen is a complete disaster! I cannot believe that she tried to bribe Patrick!!
