Patrick worked for a private security firm that provided personal firefighters services. Have you ever heard of such a thing?

No, only historically, before the Fire Services were developed. I can't see how it would work actually.

Personally, I think its despicable that someone can stand by and watch a house burn because the homeowner hasn't paid someone to save it. Would they also stand by if people were trapped inside?

Yeah, there's something unethical to the firefighters profession about it.
