Remembering John

John was our great anchor, I will always miss him too. I miss his ways of encouragement and making one feel welcomed all the time.
But he would be proud of you Lincoln. Keep up your great work in this group, you and Amy are binding it all sweetly. He said he wanted to this group to become the best group and that's what you guys are accomplishing.

I also was surfing on GoodReads pages when I 'met' him and started a swift email conversation. He helped me a lot in the first steps as a GR author (to create the page, post the links to my books, etc.). His work was successfully continued by Amy and Lincoln.
I have recently dedicated my first novel to him, and his name now appears on the first page of the paperback version

I do miss him as a co-moderator here. He took on moderator tasks even before he was ever a moderator, always welcoming new people and showing them the ropes.
It's nice to see so many books dedicated to him posthumously. I believe he'd really like yours, Peter. It has the perfect amount of adventure that would be right up his alley.
I keep thinking that I'll remove him as a moderator, but I never have the heart to do so. Every now and then I'll find a topic he contributed to, and it's like he's still with us in that tiny way. Maybe I will given a year's time, but not today.

John,
You have been gone a year...I pray for your family. I miss you!
I hope you are having a Merry Christmas!

I can honestly say, it is because of John that I even considered hanging around in the group. I had just stepped in looking for a good time travel book, I had no intention of joining the group long term. John made me feel welcome and before to long I had a friend and being a member of the time travel group was important and fun.
I miss you John...we all do.
