"I didn't know the difference."
SEE! WE TOLD EVERYONE SEBASTIAN DIDN'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE, AND THEY DIDN'T BELIEVE US! They thought he was just evil. But there is always a strong motive behind that 'evilness', always a reason. And Sebastian d-i-d-n-t k-n-o-w!

I've been thinking.
Emma Carstairs parents' were killed by Sebastian's Endarkened, right? And the plot of TDA resolves around Emma seeking those who killed her parents and getting justice. But how can she seek justice if Sebastian's dead?

She does seem very badass though. She is so headstrong and determined, and for her to go through what she went through at just 12, all that anger will drive her.
Remember Emma's parents were not an the institute when the Sebastian attacked. They could have been kill ed by someone else, their bodies were mangled and put in the sea, if Sebastian got to them the would have turned or died, not put in the ocean

I've grown to love these characters, and to have TDA with just brand new characters would just be weird and foreign.
There was all new characters in TID and we all still read it. Even if there all new characters in TDA I will still read it. Shadowhunter books will never bore me, there's always things for Cassandra to explore in the shadow world.

I was worried that I wouldn't like Emma and Jules and the Blackthorns because of their age, because I just don't necessarily take to children well and I was concerned that, because of their age and sense of mind, there would be nothing I would be able to relate to.
But there was. And I loved Jules especially. And Ty also. So I really cannot wait to read about them.
Me neither. I'm so excited to read about Emma and all the blackthorns! I already really like all of them. Especially Emma and Jules though, also Ty because he's not a character Cassie has ever done before. And he likes Sherlock Holmes!!

Magnus really was right: "The first one is always the hardest."
