Tarynn Bundy (vavavamp) I love the cheesy vampire books where the "hero" is the guy who sleeps around and thinks he is fooling himself into thinking he's happy but then that one women comes along and makes him realize how empty and dead his "life" has truly been up until then. Its the only man that will, literally, love u forever. Then there's the whole ecstasy with being bitten during making love and feeling that rush of adrenaline that nothing else compares to. im a sucker for romance and so many times I've wished to be the women in those books. If only just for one night.

Gabby | 906 comments ZOMBIES! I absolutely love them in books! I also am waiting to read a good werewolf book- I think the concept is pretty amazing and want to see someone do it really well! I was obsessed with vampires for quite a while- but I think I've read most of the good ones. I also don't mind paranormal books with multiple creatures in them like City of Bones and they all live in harmony (Or not) So many interesting concepts... really need to get reading!

Shadé (shadewrites) | 1 comments I like ultra-strong female characters like Elena in Bitten or Mercy Thompson who are able to hold their own in tough environments. It probably comes from being a frustrated female in a patriarchal world, in the paranormal world we get to even the odds a little.

Yes, Egyptian gods for me. Greek, at a push. I just can't get enough of ancient Egypt. :)

Brittain *Needs a Nap and a Drink* (bwilliams2013) | 91 comments I'm a bit obsessive about this one thing but I love it when local legends/rumors/ghost stories are incorporated into paranormal stories.

Every setting can have a story. Why not use it? Sometimes the old stories can be the spookiest ones.

Jenn Wolf shifters and Greek/Egyptian/celtic Mythology

American Gods (American Gods, #1) by Neil Gaiman I think this book has all the gods :-)

Jessa Callaver (jessa_callaver) | 1 comments Dragons. Also characters with mindpushing and telekinetic abilities!

message 62: by Emma (new)

Emma Května (emmakvetna) | 1 comments i thoroughly enjoy any story that has a ghostly twist or deals with wicca, new age, clairvoyance and tarot cards, like the Blue is for Nightmares series or Deadly Little Secret series :)

message 63: by R.M. (new)

R.M. Webb | 11 comments I'm a big time vampire fan!

message 64: by Kate (new)

Kate Whitaker | 2 comments I like my monsters evil and my heroes good. Also give me a good magic system.

message 65: by D.D. (new)

D.D. Parker (dd_parker) | 2 comments I'm loving all these different paranormal elements! Dreams is an interesting one that I haven't seen too often but would love to have it explored more. I feel like that's something that is probably easier to show over film or television though. I personally love shifters and magic. Those two are the paranormal elements that get me wrapped up in something although dystopian is starting to grab more of my attention lately.

message 66: by Rae (new)

Rae King (abookishgirl4) | 28 comments Any kind of magic gets my heart pumping! I love the idea of magic, and the idea like in Daughter of Smoke & Bone that it always comes with a price.

message 67: by Veronica (new)

Veronica Rosa (veronicadelrosa) So hard to choose just one. I love magic and shifters. Although when multiple paranormal creatures exist in the book, then I'm in love. Immortal After Dark is a great example. :)

message 68: by Maryblack (new)

Maryblack | 43 comments I love hybrids. Like any kind of hybrids and the angels and demons and wolves.

I love werewolf/lycanthrope fantasy.
favorite book with them is nightshade

message 69: by TM (new)

TM Wilson (t-amystiq) | 41 comments For me any book that has vampires, gods, war between two paranormal races, or elemental control is good enough to me. Any book out there that has any of these paranormal elements I'll sure read it.

message 70: by Shelby (new)

Shelby Suderman | 60 comments I like werewolves, but I have yet to find a book/series that's really to my liking.

Although I did enjoy Moon Called. Maybe I should go back to that.

Not necessarily paranormal, but I do love a crazy character. Like, losing their mind crazy. Especially if it's from their point of view and you don't know what they're seeing/experiencing is real or not at any given time.

message 71: by Amber (new)

Amber Foxx (amberfoxx) | 22 comments Ghosts. Because I've really seen one.
Psychic phenomena. Also real to me.
I guess I like a little of what I consider possible in the paranormal, rather than what feels more like fantasy.

message 74: by S.J. (new)

S.J. Wright | 10 comments I enjoy werewolves and magic is also a strong favourite.

Vampire I go back and forth on. Most of the time I like them. I enjoyed buffy , Angel and tru blood not to mention Twlight but sometimes I feel like there is so much out there it can be over kill.
I did enjoy supernatural's versions of vampires alot.

message 75: by Sylvia (new)

Sylvia Frances (goodreadscomsylvia_frances) | -3 comments I love how angels can read mortal minds and protect mortals from evil. I also love how they can give visions. :)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I like heroines or heros who are different, special, have something valuably different about them that others don't have. At least for paranormal, urban fantasy, fantasy, comics, pnr, and that sort.

When it comes to straight romance, dramas, classics, etc., it's fine for the character to be an average, everyday person.
