Crazy for Young Adult Books discussion

There is only one more month in 2016, so it's time to start thinking about your 2017 goals! How many books do you want to read? Are there any other goals that you're trying besides the Goodreads Reading Challenge? Lets talk!

I want to read start reading out of my comfort zone in 2017!

I think I'm just going to try for 50. I know right now that it seems pretty easy, but I'm having a baby in January so who knows if it'll be easy after that.

I think I'm going to try for 500 again. :)

The last 2 years I went for 200 and made my goal, and I am (if all works out) retiring in May 2017, so I'm going to up the ante and shoot for 225 and see how it goes! LOL

I am going to shoot for 50 next year I dont think I am going to get it by the end of this year. I have 24 to go in a month I highly doubt that is going to happen. I hope for 50 but if I end up surpassing it then yea me.

Good luck! I'm in the same position as you...too many books to read and not enough time!

I'm going for 300. I read 350 last year and this year I'm at 370 already.

I think I'll strive for 50. This year I've read more than 50 in only half a year but you'll never know how busy you'll be. It's good to know that I have realistic possibilities to reach my goal :)

I think I'll go for 50 like I did this year. Seems like my spring semester will be quite busy and next fall I'll be writing my MA thesis. Guess I'll see how much time I'll have for reading.

So in honor of my 30th birthday I'm going to set my goal at 30 books for next year :)

Some months are busier than other so I'm going to give myself some flexibility and set my goal to 50. Hopefully I can surpass it.

Last year my goal was 30 and I read 32. I decided to try and set it higher at 40 thinking I might be able to read a little bit more, but I'm only at 33, and I don't see that happening. I think I'll stick with 40 again for next year and try to accomplish it again.

I did 52 this year and it was difficult! I wish you luck!

This year my goal was 52 for 52 weeks. I'm going to barely scrape by hopefully.
My biggest challenge is that some weeks I just plain don't feel like reading! Other weeks I read a book a day! I'm INSANE! jk

I'm going to go with 65 books this year.

☀ I want at least two of those books to be over 400 pages, because I have so many long books that I keep putting off.

I think I am going for 55 again this year. I think I'm going to hit it this year or get really close. So I'm going for it again next year.

I set my goal at 40 last year and read 44 books. This year I set my goal at 45 and so far, I've finished 46. (Still in the process of reading 3 that I will *hopefully* finish in time.) I'm a teacher, so this time of year is really hard to read, but during the summer, I read a book every 2-3 days.

I think I'm going to set my goal as 50, since I've gone up 5 every year. We'll see how this goes...

i'm going to try to read 20-30 ish books in 2017 and pick up some books that may not be in my comfortzone

I seriously misjudged myself and how much I would read (but it was before I found the joy of BookBub). I had to boots my goal twice this year.

I'm probably going to say 70 books read this year, also I want to challenge myself to taking part in more events on here.

I did really good for the beginning of the year then got busy with trips and weddings and stuff.

2017 will be my year of playing CfYA games!!

My goal for next year is 20 books!

I know it doesn't seem like a lot but I have other factors in my life that prevent me from reading as much as I'd like.

My goal is going to be 50 books again. That was my goal this year but I was hit by the WORST READING SLUMP EVER :( I am not even going to make 15 books this year :( I hope that changes for 2017 and I can make it to 50. I also have a goal of just reading 100 pages a day and I want to try out the A-Z reading challenge :)

I have 2 goals.

Dream Goal (unrealistic) 50 books (or more)
Actual Goal (realistic) 2 books a month so 24 books for the year.

I work midnights at a factory and right now we are getting lots and lots of overtime so with me working 9:45pm-6:15am then add 4 hours onto that from overtime so really I'm working 9:45pm-9:45am (Eastern Pacific time) it's hard for me to read more than 2 books a month because I often take 2 weeks to read a book. Lately I've been reading books like crazy because we've been on layoff for the holidays but we are going back after this weekend and then it's going to go back to normal hours and scheduling so then I'll be spending my days sleeping and will likely do most of my reading on my breaks and during the weekend.

I'm going for 200 - I want to read more Graphic Novels as well. I really enjoyed Nimona and Anya's Ghost. Also more nonfiction xx

I am mostly gonna be busy next year since it will be my senior year in high school and I need to start applying to colleges soon. And I also work mostly on the weekends, but I am going to spend every spare time I have reading so I am aiming at 75 for my goal next year but won't be too disappointed if I don't make it

How exciting, Trinity! College will require a lot of your time!
