Jennifer Pope (jenjunum) | 902 comments This is a traditional set of short stories all by one author, BJ Novak, who is a writer from the American TV show The Office if you don't recognize the name. I listened to the audiobook, which he narrates, and he does a good job.

A few of the stories are standout 5 star stories for me. There's a story about the person who "invented" time and the calendar. It was clever and laugh out loud funny to me. I loved it. Most of the stories are in the 3-4 star range. Some are super short and more like jokes, others are longer.

Overall pretty good and worth the read. Would be great to read a couple stories here and there to break up heavier books or if you just want a laugh one night. Most of the stories are clever in addition to just being a book of jokes.

Jennifer Pope (jenjunum) | 902 comments Not as much as other books I've listened to by comedians. I don't think he did any "voices" or anything that would be better in the audio.

Joi (missjoious) | 3970 comments I was really disappointed in this. I love BJ Novak- in The Office, Mindy Project, I like the concept of his app even. I felt the whole book was trying to hard like "Look at me- I'm clever and funny!". I read it a while back, I think I liked a couple of the stories, but I can't remember even one of them now. To each their own. Maybe I just didn't get it.

Jennifer Pope (jenjunum) | 902 comments I think some were definitely flops and maybe I let the really funny ones sway my rating too much but I really, really liked the calendar one.
