The One question

I didn't like Aspen much, he annoyed me.He dumped America, and then came to the palace and wanted her back. I mean seriously dude, you dumped her in the first place.
Anyway, I think America suited Maxon more and they just seem right together.

I liked Aspen in the last book. Probably because he wasn't trying to be with America anymore. Now that I'm trying to think about it, I don't think Aspen really had that much characterisation behind him... I didn't like him because he valued being with America more than he valued her safety (when he kept trying to be close to her even when he knew what would happen to her if they got caught). Although, this was probably only for the sake of having complications - like a lot of other things in this series.

see i still don't think that they would have ended up together. think about it - once America showed that she wanted to contribute - Aspen call all huffy and macho and i think that America would have come into her own anyway. think about how she felt empowered when her mother offered to let her keep her earnings - so i think that Aspen would have felt like he wasn't providing enough and it would have fallen apart.

after reading The Guard - i think that we get another side of him - and i think that he's much better suited for Lucy - given that she's 'damaged' a bit and needs someone to protect her and take care of her.

Aspen is a jerk. End of story.

Why do people hate him? He is the one that starves. Maxon is only rich from inheritance. I hear the king dies in last book? Thank god.
