message 4: by Peter (new)

Peter | -28 comments I'm reading Different Seasons

It's a collection of four novellas by Stephen King.

I'm not sure if there is a linked theme between them, but it seems they are each tied to a different season of the year. I do know two of them do not fall into his stereotyped "horror" classification. The Body and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption are the basis for the movies "Stand By Me" and "The Shawshank Redemption" respectively.

Like Peter, I am reading Different Seasons by Stephen King

- What type of collection is it (short stories, poems, essays, etc.)?

Novellas, four of them.

- Does this collection cover a theme/subject, and if so, what is it?

I had to look that up for this question. It seems that the answer is 'they are all not in the horror genre'. Thus the 'different' is used in the title to tell the read that it won't be King's normal fare.

- Do you plan on reading all the elements of this collection in order, or jumping back and forth?

I'm going in order.... this time.
