Hidden Figures was very educational, I really recommend it!

I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
I just couldn't get into it, but might try again at some point. Maybe it's one of those occasions where I'd much prefer the movie to the book :)

The movie was great! I think the narrative structure made it more entertaining and engaging than the book. I find that lately I've been reading multiple books at once. I tend to pick up what I'm in the mood for at the moment.

I look forward to watching it :) I am very much a mood reader. I can have a preliminary notion of what I want to read, but then not feeling it when I get to it. That's one of the reasons why I don't mind having an enormous (+600) TBR-list - options! :)
But then, if I have multiple books I haven't read on my Kindle, it ends up annoying me a bit because I feel like they're taking up place. Like for example now I have 10 books on my kindle that I've added since January, and now I'm feeling I need to get it together and get some of those read before purchasing more :D

I can absolutely relate to that "kindle guilt"! I have about four books on there that I need to get to and sometimes I tell myself to go through those first. However, like you mentioned sometimes your mood changes. I think it's best to just go where your mood guides you rather than making yourself read something you won't enjoy. I find that short stories are good "palate cleansers" as it were. The Best Ameican Short Stories series is great.

I completely agree. That's why my TBR is as tentative as it is. If I try forcing myself to read something because it's what "I should do", then I either hate every moment of it or completely lose the motivation to read anything.

I'm not good at going for short stories for some reason, but I'll have to give it a try :)
