Michele | 1154 comments So did you guys watch it last night? I thought it was pretty funny, Wil is such a cheeseball. The Cosmos clips were hysterical.

I was really hoping he'd wear typical geek clothes - some kind of t-shirt, but I guess you gotta wear a suit jacket and tie once you make it to network tv.

I liked it, will continue to watch. Felicia Day next week!

Dara (cmdrdara) | 2702 comments It wasn't bad. It's not something I haven't seen before, though. Same premise/setup as The Soup/Tosh.0/Web Soup so it feels old already. I like Wil though so I'll likely tune in. Unless Chopped is on.

Humor was ok. I was annoyed by the laugh track. Or it sounded like it was a laugh track. He did thank an audience.

Keidy | 525 comments Waiting for it to be released on Hulu. I don't have cable. :(

John (Nevets) Nevets (nevets) | 1903 comments I'm pretty sure I remember him saying somewhere that he had a live audience for this, but I may be wrong.

Not all the jokes hit for me, but enough did, that I'll watch again. Personally I think Wil is more personable (and funny) when he's not working off of a script, and a little more relaxed, like on "Tabletop". I know he was trying to be like those other shows you mentioned, but I hope he has the time to develop the show into it's own thing. Think it might be better that way.

terpkristin | 4407 comments My power went out last night so I didn't get to watch it (or record it, like I'd planned) then. But it's re-airing tomorrow morning at 0900 so my DVR is set, now Mother Nature needs to cooperate! :D

message 9: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin | 358 comments I think he was a little stiff but I'm betting he'll grow past that

message 10: by Rochelle (new)

Rochelle | 69 comments I agree, I think he'll get more relaxed as the show (hopefully) goes on. The Cosmos bits were hysterical. And I loved how happy Wil seemed!

Oh, and he did post a picture of the audience that was at the taping: https://twitter.com/wilw/status/47177...

Yeah, basically a Talk Soup/Tosh.0 show with a geek flavor.

Hopefully they'll move away from that format, even if it is literally the cheapest type of TV show to make, so even dismal ratings can keep it on the air.

message 12: by Cliff (new)

Cliff | 69 comments I thought it was sort of odd that Wil went with an outro of "Play more games!" For anyone who doesn't watch Tabletop, it must have come out of nowhere.

Joanna Chaplin | 1175 comments I bounced violently off the Walking Dead segment and haven't watched the rest of the episode. I would have appreciated a gore warning.

message 14: by Keidy (new)

Keidy | 525 comments I just finished watching the show and I thought it was great. I always appreciate Wil's sense of humor and it shows in spades here. I can't wait to see more!

On another note, Wil mentioned a listing of some of the shows cancelled in 2014. For those of you that have been on the "Cancelled Shows of 2014" thread totally know that I'm still and forever mourning for "Almost Human". So it makes me SOOOO HAPPY to hear that Wil not only mentioned this show but added "This show didn't even had a chance!" And he's right! It didn't! I'm still hoping someone will pick up the show. Now I know what the Firefly fans feel like. T_T

Alexander (technogoth) | 171 comments I finally got around to watching it the laugh track was very off putting to the point that I wanted to try and mute it but sadly tv doesn't work that way.

I agree that he was stiff and seemed to be trying to hard to be funny.

I'd think it better if it was geek version of Russell Howard's good news. But people outside of the UK probably haven't heard of it.

He says it wasn't a laugh track, but a live audience. Even If they used one on EP 1, they definitely didn't on EP 2.

Sky | 665 comments I thought the clips were hilarious in ep1, but he seemed a little forced...Hopefully he'll relax into it.
