Thanks, Anita. :-) Thought I'd start off on an optimistic note.

Amy | 12932 comments Lisa Ann, historical fiction is my fifth stair too, and general sweet spot.

So do I!

I've gone for "It Ends With Us" for my contemporary romance book - it was on the top book list for 2016 and looks interesting and well written. I'll let you know how it goes :)

Amy- Historical fiction was my easy pick. The rest were more difficult. I was waiting for the final group shelf to be chosen, so I could figure out what my final #1 and #2 stairs assignments would be.

Kate- I hope the romance book works out okay for you. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts.

Amy | 12932 comments Plenty of us live for historical fiction. You are in great company. My sweet spot too. An easy stair five.

Amy | 12932 comments I found stair three the hardest to choose. Still don't know if I chose right or well. At least something will be a stretch.

message 12: by KateNZ (new)

KateNZ | 4101 comments Historical fiction is my favourite too. I should probably have gone for that instead of for comedy. But maybe I can find some comedic historical fiction...

In April, I had to take an extended break from much of my group related activities on Goodreads. Even though it is nearly December, I am glad to have the time to participate again. :-)

Three more books to complete for Contemporary Romance, Europe and Historical Fiction stairs. I think I can ... I think I can. 🚅

Update: 2 books to go!!!!! One needed for Europe (am thinking Victoria) and one needed for Historical Fiction (maybe The Gift of the Magi).

Awesome - you're way closer than I am!

Done! :-)

KateNZ | 4101 comments Spectacular! If I was close enough, I'd hug you :)

Some good recommendations in the Stairs list too, particularly Atomic Weight, which sounds like exactly my kind of book! I'm glad you enjoyed Charing Cross Road as much as I did - I think I had a ridiculous grin on my face the whole time I was reading it

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, you are so sweet, Kate. How about a virtual hug. {{{ }}} :-)

In all fairness, I chose shelves for this challenge that I thought would make things easy, rather than difficult. Plus, I placed Contemporary Romance on stair one, knowing that isn't a favorite genre of mine.

I am glad Atomic Weight sounds like something you would enjoy reading. Maybe it will come in handy for a challenge or monthly tag next year. :-) Either way, I'll look forward to your thoughts on it.
