Basically, are we allowed to finish off a new series too, or can we only start them?

Yes, if you start a new series you can read the whole thing under the same category.

If you're reading for the '-read a new book (published 2016/2017)' category, then the book must be first published in 2016/2017. new editions of older books wouldn't count.

This will be a team reading challenge which will run from January 1st 2017 to January 31st 2017. Results will be announced on February 1st 2017.
This challenge is all about everything new, simply read books which fit the categories, and enjoy!
Categories:
-read a new-to-you author,
-read a new-to-you series
-read a new-to-you genre
-read a new book (published 2016/2017)
-read a book with less than 100 ratings on Goodreads
-read an ARC
Points:
*50 - 99 pages = 0.5 points
*100 - 199 pages = 1 point
*200 - 299 pages = 2 points
*300 - 399 pages = 3 points
*400 - 499 pages = 4 points
*500 - 599 pages = 5 points
*600+ pages = 6 points
(maximum of 6 points per book)
*Buddy reads DOUBLE your points score, so a 300 page book + buddy read = 6 points. 600 page book + buddy read = 12 points. (Bonus points for buddy reads will only be given if the buddy read has taken place in our group.)
Rules:
* This challenge will run from January 1st to January 31st, with results announced on February 1st.
*Books started before Janaury can be used, but you must only claim the number of pages read in January.
*Buddy reads must still have a minimum of 4 comments to count.
*4 detailed updates can be used instead of a review.

This challenge will be a team challenge. When signing up please let us know if you want to join a 'Serious' team (reading 12 books or more), a 'medium' team (reading 8-12 books) or a 'Just for fun' team (reading any number of books). You may also sign up as a solo participant.
