Book Explosions discussion

I was already a huge fan of Nick Russell’s Big Lake and Dog’s Run series, so I was very excited to see a new series introduced by this author. John Lee Quarrels is a deputy in rural Florida, his life is complicated for a variety of reasons, but more so with the discovery of the remains of three very long dead people.

There’s a big mix of characters in this new series, and Russell does a great job of making them lovable and despicable (and a little bit in-between). They mystery runs through at a nice even pace, but one that makes it hard to put the book down too. I’m looking forward to the next in the series.
