It is the very first day of the new year and I already feel pressured to read books I am not really in the mood for. Therefore, I reduced my reading goal and dropped out of the Around-The-Year-In-52-Books-Challenge. Reading is my hobby not my chore...

I've felt that way in the past. You really have to be 100% confident that you want to do a challenge and read certain books. I've been better this year. It's a good thing you caught yourself right away. Hope you enjoy all of your reads!
