Moondance (moondance120) | 2140 comments I hit Goodwill today to get flannel shirts to make wreaths. I wandered over to the book section and squealed. I found 14 hardcover copies of the In Death series. Absolute heaven!

Danielle Book Boss (daniellebookboss) | 1009 comments Super excited to play! Hopefully this will help me get my reading off to a good start for 2017. This past year was abysmal for my reading challenge.

message 59: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I know everyone's anxious to get chattin' and teams will be up soon-ish, but it might not be until after we ring in the new year.

message 60: by Steph, Serious series addict (last edited Dec 30, 2016 07:51PM) (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Well, I couldn't wait myself, so I've created team threads and uploaded bingo cards. We have 22 teams this round, so check the "FIND YOUR TEAM" thread for your team and a quick link to your team's thread.

Between now and game time (18 Jan @ 12:30p PST), please ...
~ Introduce yourself & chat with your teammies
~ Review your team bingo card to make sure there are no duplicate shelves
~ Vote on and choose a team name
~ Choose a team captain

Please let us know if there are any issues with your bingo card, which team name you would like and who will be your captain. Thanks!

Happy almost New Year to everyone! Anxious to get started on R14! :D

Sandra | 25908 comments As anyone who has played this game before may have noticed, some players only read books for their shelves if it is a potential winning shelf.

As of this Round of Bingo, the Mods have decided to implement a new rule -

To win Bingo, every called shelf must be stamped. ie every book for every shelf for the winning team must be read, rated and reviewed, and then stamped.

Of course, you never know who will be on the winning team, so it pays to keep up to date throughout the game :)

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

Steph, there seem to be 2 Lauras, one in team 2 and one in team 22. Can you point out who is in which team to avoid confusion?

Eldarwen | 2200 comments Yay, teams are up!!

message 67: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LOL Ezi :) I figured some people would miss the "find your team" thread b/c they would hunt when they saw I was adding teams. But, hopefully it helped some.

Thanks for the heads up, Preethi, I usually remember to look for dupe names but forgot last night. Here's the breakdown/also now listed on the "find your team" thread:
TEAM22 Laura (Bday 9/14; #12 on sign up thread
TEAM2 Laura (From the Netherlands; #26 on sign up thread)

I *love* this new rule. As someone who kept up with the shelves, it was always frustrating when so many others didn't. I noticed this round, there are some spots (the 4 corners) that won't help anyone get a Bingo. So, this new rule works perfectly.

I agree

Michelle (michelle_mc) | 2158 comments No slacking, got it! I do appreciate the rule though, it will hopefully give people (read me) that little nudge to keep up with the 1 book a week. Looking forward to starting! :)

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments I'm very bad at writing, presenting my thoughts in a clear and concise manner. I would really appreciate a list of items to cover when writing a review.

message 74: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Everyone writes reviews differently Val.

What we're looking for in Bingo, is whether you liked it & why or why not. Remember in Bingo you don't need to do more than a few sentences as long as it reflects your feelings.

It might be the world-building or the interactions between the characters, or that you thought it was funny or anything else that grabs your fancy.

I generally write a review just for myself, so that I can remember what happened in the book. As so many of my books have similar ideas it makes it hard to keep track, unless something special stands out. But that's just me :)

message 77: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 2484 comments How would the 4 corners not help someone get a bingo?

message 78: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Mary, we're doing the airplane design this round. The corners aren't part of the pattern. It's in the sign up thread:

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 2098 comments Let me throw in my 2 cents here, Steph. You need to read In Death. Just go ahead and try one.

I love this series and used to buy them as soon as they hit the bookstores, but had to cut back on my book buying when a lot of my favorite authors started releasing in hardback. I am already on the library hold list for Echoes in Death even though it's not being released for another month.
