Jim | 21810 comments Sometimes I listen to Radio 4 over the computer. As my lady wife is listening to the same programme on the radio two rooms away we've become aware that there is a slight time lag with the computer version being a sentence or two behind the radio.
Listening to Nine Lessons and Carols at the moment and we timed the time lag. At the moment the computer version is One minute 25 seconds behind the radio! Normally it's just a few seconds

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Wow - that's a pretty big lag! There must be heavy traffic on the internet. Everybody catting to distant relatives on Christmas Eve?

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments No Jim, it's simply an eddy in the space/time continuum.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Catting. Hehe.

Okay, I'll behave and let that one go. In the spirit of the season n all.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Oh drat! And that was after I got my glasses back and all...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments So Eddy is chatting to all his relatives? Or is it just wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments We've got a time lag in our house, too.

I ask Dave to do something and it only takes six months for him to follow the instructions.

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 2992 comments It's the same when watching live streams via the BBC website vs on the telly.

Even then, cable TV tend to be slightly behind satellite TV for some reason.

Tim | 8539 comments In the days when I had Sky, I noticed a similar lag between the terrestrial version of a channel (e.g. BBC1) and the satellite version.

Alicia Ehrhardt (aliciabutcherehrhardt) | 4836 comments Take advantage. Move quickly - and be able to tell your astonished spouse the future.

Of course, it may be too late if you've already mentioned the time-space confusion.

Jim | 21810 comments I was the slow one

Best explanation I heard was it was a disturbance in the force caused by Carrie Fisher being ill :-(

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Rick Parfitt died - and that disturbed the Status Quo!

Chris Robb (chrisrobb) | 1408 comments There's a few seconds difference between FM and DAB too.
