Hiya, Team Caps! Thanks for volunteering to guide your team through a round of BookShelf Bingo! Your job, should you choose to accept it, will require a few things:
1 ~ Be our go-to person should we have any questions about your team
2 ~ Organize your teammate's weekly reads for each shelf/category so that the BSB Ninjas can quickly and easily verify and approve your stamp request(s)
2a ~ Create a master list in a post (preferably on the first page of your team's thread) and update it weekly or as often as necessary
3 ~ Encourage and motivate your team (you may also ask to borrow Judithe's whip whenever necessary)
4 ~ Post regularly to ensure your team is communicating and on track each week
4a ~ Send them a PM and friendly poke if they haven't posted at least once a week, noted their book choice, and/or appear to have dropped out of webspace
5 ~ Send us a PM (Steph, Sandra or Judithe) should you need us for any reason throughout the game

A little bit about me now that I have more time :)I live in Maine (eastern time zone). I am mom to two furbabies, Padfoot (yorkiepoo) and Harley (wheaten). I read almost every romance sub-genre but UF is my favorite. Kate Daniels (Ilona Andrews) and The Others (Anne Bishop) are currently my favorite series.
I'm not great at coming up with names until it's too late, then I suddenly have tons of amazing ideas :P I don't care if we keep the number/reading theme but that was all I had for ideas:

Any New Year resolutions? Any bookish resolutions? I slacked so much in PNR/UF books last year. I'm going to remedy that this year. I am determined to write reviews for books I read.... Those poor books having just a rating from me, just because I was too lazy to wrote a proper review...

No real regular resolution, I know I won't stick to anything big. I got a fitbark (fitness tracker for dogs) for Christmas so I'm doing my best to wear Harley out each day and achieve her point goal.For books I'm hoping to read more books than I did in 2016 and start less new series (psh, like that's going to happen).
Writing reviews is a great goal! I've given up on writing them for books, I tried but reading is more fun.
Hah! I know exactly what you mean regarding reviews. I am(was?) like that too. How can I waste time thinking of a proper review when those unread books are calling to me to pick them up and read them! Reading is definitely more fun than writing a review... Sigh! Going to try to remedy that, though. Let's see how far I stick to this:)
Hi ladies! I guess am a bit late to the party! I'm new to this challenge and to the group to. We've had a bit of like a bingo challenge over at NBRC as a part of a bigger challenge but the rules are a bit different. So I rather sit this one out and just be a good member! I promise to read my part ;)I read mostly fantasy books but I do read UF too. Kate Daniels and The Others fan here too! And it's pissing me off that Anne Bishop is not doing anything about my ship. My all time favorite though is the (original) The Fever Series.
DO we need a special shelf for our read books?When is the official start of Bingo? DO books need to be started after the official date for it to be credited? Can we start planning who's going to read for what?
Sorry, I can't find it in the rules. Or if there's a different thread for FAQs do point me there so I'll just read :)
Preethi help. Lol I dont get it. What are the shelves for? The books we read must meet the requirements from the bingo card pictured above + it must be in the shelf provided by the mods?
Kathleen, in Message 2 of this thread, Steph has posted links to Bingo FAQ and Free Space Rules threads. I suggest that you read through them. If you are still confused after reading that, I explain them to you:)

-When reading for a box in the bingo card, I understand that the book needs to be in the list the mods posted. Q: Do they specify which specific shelves we are allowed t pick a book from? FAQ says "Any book listed on the shelf that is posted each week will be allowed." Am I correct to assume that the shelves are changing weekly too?

Kathleen, this round the pattern for winning has been changed. It is not 5 boxes stamped in a row.
Go to This link. you will notice that there have been 4 patterns specified. We have to have one of those patterns read and stamped to win.
In the same link, you'll have noticed that just below these patterns is a Quick shelf reference, which is in essence, a link to a particular list. These shelf references correspond to our Bingo cards. Each Wednesday, one of these 24 shelves/lists will be called.
There are two ways to pick books for each shelf call.
1. Go the specific list, and choose a book from one of the books in the 100 pages listed.
2. Pick a book you think might suit this shelf call, and go to its page. In it, go to Genres (in the right side of the screen) -> See Top shelves and find out if the shelf with the exact matching name is present there. For Example, to fit into our Angels shelf, it is not enough if the top genres listed has 'Angel' in them. It should have 'Angels'.
All books must be started after the official start date (Jan 18) for them to count. Free Space books can be started anytime after the official start date. but it is generally a good idea to look through the Free space rules and choose a Free space book in these 18 days before the official start date. That way, we can read the book whenever we have time.
All books we have picked for each shelf call/Free space book should be notified of here in this thread before we start reading them. That way, the captain can keep things up-to-date so that the mods can check in any time.

I'm new to the Fever series. I've only read the first book. I enjoyed it a lot but I think heroine's like Kate Daniels have spoiled me. I expected and enjoy most a really strong female lead. I've heard there's lots of character growth though, so I'm excited to read more!

Laura, I don't mind being captain. But as I said, the time zone thing with the shelf call makes it difficult to be a useful captain. That is the only reason I am hesitant to be captain.

Kathleen, I think I may be in the minority here, but I read the first book in the FEVER series about 3 to 4 years ago. I didnt like it at all. So I dropped the series:(
@Kait: Very true. MCs like Kate Daniels just spoil one for any other kind. Snarky, kick-ass heroines like Kate are much more fun to read too:)
Speaking of Ilona Andrews, have you all read Burn For Me? What did you think of it compared to Kate Daniels? I can't wait for White Hot to be released. I've re-read Burn For Me more nearly 4 times and will reread it again before White Hot's release!

On Wednesdays I work until 5PM eastern ( = 2PM pacific) so I wouldn't be able to post them until about 2 hours after shelf call.

I have read Burn For Me... and then re-read it! You've got me beat but I plan on rereading it before the next one comes out too. I loved it a lot. I prefer the later Kate books to it but it's still phenomenal and I can't wait!! The world and magic system they've created is amazing and uggghh so many lovable side characters. Don't even get me started on Nevada and Rogan <333 I died a little inside when the original release date for White Hot was pushed back years :(

Well for me there is going to be time difference as well. I'm in Europe and I think there is 9 hours difference. Maybe you can be captain and we can all help with self announcements. What do you think?

I like both The Series Slayer Squadron (in keeping with the theme of this group) and Dual Machete-Weilding Rougeragers (kinda big, I know. But it sounds so kick-ass to me).
Any name that we decide on is good with me if the others have a preference, I'm easy :)Has anyone planned their reads? I have a list of books that I want to read in the next few months so I went through and marked each shelf they could work for :P Who knows if I'll stick with that though, I'm not usually a planner when it comes to reading. My 'toughest' shelf was steampunk. I only had one book that fit - A Darker Shade of Magic.
