I'm really enjoying this one so far!
I read For Darkness Shows the Stars years ago which is loose adaptation (which meant nothing to me at the time because I hadn't read it). So it's cool for me to see what the basis of that story is.
Personally, I find this a lot easier to follow than Emma. I also like the drama a lot more.

Yes I loved this one when I first read it and it is a lot easier than Emma!

But I have read Persuasion before, and I remember being completely captured by the first page, where Anne's father takes such pleasure in reading about his status. I knew right away that Persuasion would mock those people who value status over substance.
Anne Elliott is much more likable than Emma.
