Maren Hald Bjørgum (mbjorgum) | 4 comments As a former English Literature major, former bookstore clerk and all around bookworm, the dry spell I've been going through in the reading department the last couple of years has been depressing. After narrowly failing to reach the modest goal of 25 books in 2016, I've come to the realization that I need to be more proactive in 2017. As a result, I've become more active on Goodreads the last two months.

For my 2017-list, I've decided that my challenge will be a list of 20 items. It is inspired by the "Modern Mrs. Darcy's 12 books in 12 different categories"-challenge, but with my own additions:

--- My 2017-list: ---

1. A book published this year
2. A book you can finish in one day
3. A book you have been meaning to read
4. A book recommended by your local librarian/bookseller
5. A book you should have read in school
6. A book set during wartime
7. A book chosen for you by someone you don't know
8. A book published before you were born
9. A play
10. A book that was banned at some point
11. A book you previously abandoned
12. A book about robots
13. A book you own but have never read
14. A book that intimidates you
15. A book you have read at least once
16. A book written by Umberto Eco
17. A classic you had never heard of
18. A biography
19. A book with a green cover
20. A book by an author from a country you've never visited

Hopefully, I'll get back into my former habit of reading all the time, everywhere, and read more than 35 books in 2017.

Kerrie Owen | 5 comments Hey Maren. This is exactly why I'm here :) It's nice to know someone else has lost that spark... and even nicer to know they're keen to rekindle it :)

Jennifer Burton | 234 comments I have on and 9ff days, it drives me crazy because I know I need to kick it in high gear, but I just can't seem to get a handle on reading, I'll get a big push and then I'm back to not reading for days on end. Need motivation!!
