What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

The main character was male. They were something like financial analysts, but to win a contract they race and battle with their souped up cars. It wasn't normally to the death, but there were a few times one person would kill the other with their car, or shoot the loser if they were in bad shape.

I read this I believe between the year 2000 and 2010 - not sure if it was new but would guess is was published either then or in the 90's. Have tried lots of Google word combinations but haven't come up with anything. Appreciate any help!
