Arwen Telian (arwent) | 3 comments *Two semi-spoilers
One of the characters names is Jesse, he is a young cowboy from the 1800s.
Two main characters are girls, one of their names might be Jeanette. The blond girl has a guardian *spoiler* who is an alien, and is a rock. They travel into a dystopian future where we are sent to reeducation islands if you think differently. One of the girls *spoiler* is a timekeeper, or some similar title.
Books were maybe written in the 70s/80s/90s, but I think late 80s.
