The author of the book that I have is Courtney Alameda, but the book that you have is by Laurie Stolarz and she wrote Dark House so I wouldn't mind reading that one either. LOL

Obviously I changed the book and I'll start it tomorrow. We have another birthday tomorrow for Heather's oldest daughter who is turning 20. So I might not get a lot read, but I'll get some done.

15 chapters (how is it I"m up at 1:30 am reading again! lol)

This is a really easy, quick read so far
and I'm liking it

Day(view spoiler)[ I love how easily we can know her. her parents both fight injustices but have lost each other in their causes
it's the perfect storm for Day to want to help and also to not tell her parents (hide spoiler)]

Julian(view spoiler)[ hmm....I think he's innocent but I definitely think there's more to the story (hide spoiler)]

Shutter(view spoiler)[ I love the title and how it plays into Day's photography. I remember being so into photography in high school. I loved developing my own film and walking around taking pictures. it's dangerous but I love how well she expressed herself through photos (hide spoiler)]

Theory(view spoiler)[ what do you think happened at Julians?
the dad definitely sounds abusive/controling - kid couldn't eat until dad was done.
mom definitely seems to have emotional issues.

what happened to Julian's brother, Steven?
is that what Julian feels guilty about?

Julian(view spoiler)[ isn't really selling himself on actually being innocent. There is still so much he's not admitting to or not explaining. I don't understand why yet. (hide spoiler)]

Max(view spoiler)[ he......seems odd, right? He seems like he's always around at the most "convenient" times. hopefully he's just a distraction for Day and not something more (hide spoiler)]

Theory(view spoiler)[ Okay, so now we know what happened to his brother - it doesn't sound like he made it sound - like he actually hurt his brother and his parents hid it but an actual accident.

but still...what happened. they fought....about what??
and I don't know if I believe Julian's account of saturday. Like other say - it seems like he mowed the lawn later than he said and there was the argument. I don't know. I don't want to think he did it

this was a very very interesting story

I liked(view spoiler)[ the grayness between the idea of "bad people" and people who are put in bad situations (hide spoiler)]

but(view spoiler)[ I do have to say....I'm sad it was Julian after all. It means his whole life, whether he is released or has a small or big sentence before him - it means he will always know he killed his dad. that's rough (hide spoiler)]

Day(view spoiler)[ I did like the talk she had with her dad
and I did like her mom's response to her hiding Julian
I loved the portrayal of parents who trust their child but who are also upset when they find out she's not been truthful or safe (hide spoiler)]

OMG you are so fast! LOL I haven't even started it. But seeing that you gave it 4 stars is encouraging! I'm glad you liked it so much.

Unfortunately I spent my time today reading Book of Eden and didn't really like it much. : (
