Nothing question

I had an interesting conversation with an Amazon customer rep tonight. I came to realize that I do not actually own the e-books that I have bought from Amazon because I do not have the right to loan most of my books, and I also do not have the right to give away my e-books. I demanded my rights. I was told it was not Amazon's policy.

Those of you who have bought e-books, what is your opinion about my issue?

A book was mentioned just to fill that requirement.
