Lovers of Paranormal discussion

So I recently wrote a review for a book that I loved, and nobody read the review. But all I wanted to do was tell everyone how much I loved the book.

So I was thinking that I'd create a thread to share your reviews on. Here you can list your review, and check out other people's reviews. It kind of sucks to put effort into writing a review, and then nobody reads it, so let's read each others reviews!

Find the review you wrote. Click SEE REVIEW, the page will open on your review and there should only be your review. Copy paste the address in the message.

That's what I use too. Here's what I've discovered about posting reviews. I'm not sure what search engine you use but I use Google. I type in Goodreads on Google and log into Goodreads.com that way. Once I'm in I have to go into My Books and click on the book I want. As soon as you click on your book , your review will show. You have to Press and Hold My Review until the link comes up for copy. Click on copy then go over to the read my reviews area where we are now and on the new comment area press and hold again and paste will come up. Click on paste and the link to your review should be there.

BTW - when you become 'friends' with someone, Goodreads sends you a daily update email which lists all of the books your friends have reviewed in the last 24 hours or so. If you click on the book cover in the email it will bring you right to your friends review. After reading it, click 'like' down the bottom and they will receive notice that somebody read and liked their review.

Thanks for posting Anna, the clutter of so-and-so posted this comment in that discussion is cluttering my new and making it hard to find reviews.

You can go in and amend your Goodreads settings to only get the information you want. I wrote this for a different community I help moderate, but it will show you how to quiet the clutter. You -do- want to receive the daily 'Your Daily Updates from Your Friends' email to see what your friends reviewed.

I wrote a review for a book, I didn't like haha. I think even negative reviews are worth reading, and often find that they should be detailed and explain critics of a book well, rather than just leaving it as "I hate this book". Ultimately, I read Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence and my hopes were crushed.

I recently read The Collector by Victoria Scott, and actually enjoyed that book. I think a lot of people in this group would enjoy reading it as well.

The Black Prism by Brent Weeks might be more fantasy than paranormal, but I really enjoyed that book, and I feel as though it is worth a read.

Aaahh! The Collector has been sitting on my shelf FOREVER! I keep picking it up, then putting it back, picking it up, putting it back. I've heard SO MANY good things about it since it was released but am finding it difficult to get into books lately and don't want to stop a good book mid-way :( But i'm glad you enjoyed it and will read the review once I've read the book (Which is hopefully soon!)
