The days were heating up, and that usually meant the weather outside would be nice. Taking full advantage of that had been a number of athletes, a few of whom Raquelle had come out in "support" of. It was really just an excuse used when the few people that could approach her needed a referee, and who better to choose than one of the few people you wouldn't want to argue with? Being such an optimal choice found her out on the stands, varying between bored and mildly interested as the athletes ran across the field, calling out and passing when they could.
Raquelle understood the mechanisms of sports. She had a pretty solid grasp of the most basic rules, she would admit. But this wasn't exactly how she had planned to spend her day. Most of it was supposed have been spent unwinding after another round of rallys she'd organized for a few politically minded folks out in Wilmington. She didn't exactly want to be sweating out in the sun, watching people kick around a ball.

Raquelle would have been a lot more annoyed with a ball coming at her, had she not already been mostly bored. And this was the most entertaining it'd gotten since she'd come out here. Brow raised as a girl jogged over, she observed her quietly. Rocky wasn't sure how long she'd been out there for, but she'd probably been on the field for a while. The face was possibly familiar - she'd seen a lot of faces today and even then there were more out there and features tended to blur together if she wasn't paying attention - but she couldn't place it. Maybe it was the blended features thing.
"Don't worry about it," she responded, returning the smile with a slightly wider one. "Just get a goal for me as an apology for almost taking me out with that thing." The line came easily enough, meant to be amicable and prompt the girl to return to her game. It was followed closely by the tilt of her head and an easy stare, unwavering.

Oh, how bold. Rocky's smile widened, a lot more amused now. It wasn't often that anyone really worked up the courage to talk to her first, let alone ask her out on a date. A moment passed as she considered the proposal, letting the girl stew for a second or two. It was obviously a spur of the moment type thing. Not that Rocky minded; spontaneity was fun. She made sure she looked like she was considering it, brows furrowed and teeth worrying at her bottom lip while she held eye contact.
The hollering of the boys nearby was nothing but background noise. This girl was interesting in her boldness. "Maybe," she drawled, leaning back. She licked her lips, eyes flickering over to the field behind the girl before focusing in on her again. "Tell me your name before you start making things up to me?"

Sarai. She'd put that name to memory. The girl certainly looked like she could make good on this promise of hers. "Raquelle," she responded, moving hair from her face. Though, Sarai seemed a little less intent on returning to her game. Not that she minded. "But you can call me Rocky." At the mention of the usual seen you around before, her smile widened. "I'm in Diamond. You - lemme guess - are Ace."
( sorry this was so bad )

( i'm so sorry this is late i'm terrible )
Rocky chuckled, eyes widening only slightly. Not many people opted for her actual name rather than her nickname. Well, not her actual name, considering she reserved that for important documents. And that she didn't much like it. The only people who'd ever called her that were her mother and grandmother, and a handful of aunts. But that was alright. She watched the other jog back to the field, finally interested in what was going on.
It was no surprise that Sarai would be coming back so quickly. She'd looked confident enough in her abilities for it to be a small thing to score a goal. A smile on her lips as the girl jogged back with a dopey grin, Rocky stalled for a moment. More false looks of contemplation, and then she nodded after a second. "Totally," she drawled.
