Chpt. 26 - Anwar "M.E.T.E." start: 12:14:13, 8/19/2014 Los Angeles end: 09:14:40, 8/22/2014 Los Angeles
Anwar gets hold of Enzio, finally. Then, he shows Xanther how to play the game "Go" featuring white and black beads. He brings up the incident with Xiomara. Turns out that Enzio went bankrupt which means Anwar's out $9,000.
Flashback: Anwar wonders if Mefisto might be suffering mental illness with his talk of nicknames and villains. Mefisto expresses the danger at hand that his friends are suffering. That Cas, The Wizard, is working to spare everyone. Anwar shows Mefisto the game engine he's been building, called M.E.T. Mefisto starts editing code and talks of the beauty of brevity. Talks of "living in an algorithm. . .or just being the algorithm."
At a baseball game with Xanther, Anwar suspects he has shingles. Xanther has fun at the game, meanwhile, Anwar reflects on his own mother. The next day, Anwar sees an interview offer based on request from Mefisto at a company called Galvadyne. Somehow Mefisto changed the name of M.E.T. to M.E.T.E. (meta-encounters toward enlightenment) and wrote over 1 million lines of code.
