I'd say you are growing your blog, Alex.

message 626: by Nathan (new)

Nathan Bush | 88 comments Alex wrote: "You're welcome, Peri, and thanks Nathan. It's been a very popular interview so far, 16 views since it went up, that's a bit of a record for posts since I put the new site/blog together."

I average 5-15 views per post, Alex, but your interview has so far gotten 98 views! You beat out Kay's interview, which had 81, so I know the Blog go round is drawing people to my blog. Thanks.

Nathan Bush | 88 comments Alex wrote: "Wow, Nathan, who knew I was so interesting, lol. This really does draw people to our blogs better than anything else I've done recently"

Yeah, now I just have to hope it draws them to my books!

Nathan Bush | 88 comments Alex wrote: "And mine. I view this as a marathon kind of thing, though. They may not buy yours or my, or any of our, books the first time they visit our blogs but if we can get them there and then keep them coming back..."

I've got a WIP that I'm doing with short stories (one is posted on my showcase thread) that I'm considering posting to my blog site one short at a time to keep the visitors coming back.

message 630: by Aislinn (new)

Aislinn I'm toying with the idea of writing short little scenes in my series universe for my blog/newsletter subscribers. But I have so many things I want to write I never feel like I have the time.

Know what you mean. I have four or five plot lines running around in my head for my series, but I still have editing/rewriting to do on the current project, plus the short stories I'm working on. I'm hoping that if I start posting some shorts on my site then I'll end up with more than just one follower lol

Nathan Bush | 88 comments Alex wrote: "I'm still trying to work out what to do with my blog to keep the visitors coming, I only get a trickle when I'm not posting interviews. I'll get there, though."

Right now I post reviews for my book, reviews I do of other books, and I'm currently posting a devotional series. I also do an occasional update of whats going on with my work or upcoming interviews

Nathan Bush | 88 comments Alex wrote: "That's mostly what I do, though it includes reviews of films and any other random things that occur to me; I tend to blog in phases though, I'll go a while withough blogging anything and then blog ..."

that's kind of how I am. Although when I get on a roll, I'll post several things in one day and not do anything for the next week!

message 634: by Amy (new)

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments I just blog when I can spin something vaguely witty around some mundane thing that's happened. I'm dreadful at reviewing things. My reviews are "I liked that" and I think that comes from being told so many times growing up and beyond that my opinion was wrong. Happened again recently. It's a shame when it's your own family.

I've got a blog-go-round post going out either today or tomorrow, depending on available time.

That's about how my reviews go. I can only put down three or four sentences then I run out of things to say.

It's bad when your friends run you down, but worse when it's family. And yeah, Alex, sometimes it would be nice if you could pick family lol

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments Alex wrote: "I'd have Bill Gates for a dad if I could pick family, I might not be any happier, but I would be more comfortable, lol."

Is he open to adopting adults, anyone know?

Nathan Bush | 88 comments Alex wrote: "I'd have Bill Gates for a dad if I could pick family, I might not be any happier, but I would be more comfortable, lol."

Hahaha! Totally! You can't buy happiness, but I could at least buy the services I need to make my books better, and a boat lol

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments And a new caravan...

message 639: by Nathan (new)

Nathan Bush | 88 comments Meh, I'm not a caravan type lol

message 640: by Amy (new)

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments It's only a caravan because we can't afford bricks and mortar, otherwise I'd go for a second home by the sea in house form.

Nathan Bush | 88 comments Amy wrote: "It's only a caravan because we can't afford bricks and mortar, otherwise I'd go for a second home by the sea in house form."

I prefer a ranch in Montana or Wyoming; lots fewer people there

message 642: by Amy (new)

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments I could also do tropical islands and fewer people. Instead, I'll do a blog post, Nathan's interview is here, give it a read and check it's OK.
