What I can't guarantee in Blogger is just how many of those are real people actually clicking on a link to look at it and how much is automatic machine stuff. And google analytics scared the crap out of me when I signed up for it.

When I resurrected my blog on 5th Jan I was getting about a dozen views per post. Now most of them get 50-100 with Louann's at 157. The increase is a direct result of the blog go round.

It certainly helps to get views. Of course I don't have a dedicated web site. And I'm only selling a book every two weeks. I guess I am as close to getting a dedicated web site as I am being able to afford professional editing. (On the up side, my other business has earned me enough money to buy food for the kids this week and school shoes for my son-so professional editing will have to wait)

I have learnt that Facebook picks a random picture to go with the post, but at least it's not my face on someone else's interview. I have also learnt that I find it hard to grab a Facebook post link if I've shared it onto my page. Technology. I have also learnt that scheduling a post on Blogger doesn't necessarily work. I can't see anything wrong and it just didn't publish it.

You can choose to upload a different photo onto your post if it isn't the one you wanted. I think there's a + button next to the picture that pops up.

I hear you about the dedicated website. How about Wordpress? They don't charge if you let them post ads, and the ads aren't obnoxious. You can have a site that's as simple or as complicated as you want, with a book blog attached. Let me know if you're interested and I'll pass on a few hints I've learned.
