Up to chapter 6: (view spoiler)[ I am so glad to be back in this world again. I really enjoyed Passenger and I can't wait to see what direction this story takes. We've already had one shock and that was that Julian is still alive. (hide spoiler)]

I've started this book, I'm up to chapter 8 and liking it. Anyone else still reading??

I am still reading this but it is taking me a lot longer than I was expecting. I'm going to try and read a good chunk of it today so I will update later when I've read a bit more.

Just got this from the library so starting now. :)

Up to chapter 12: (view spoiler)[ All of this talk about the changing timeline is very confusing. I know the last book had time travel in it but I don't remember it being so confusing. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 10: (view spoiler)[Duh, you always have to be very specific in your deals like that or you won't get exactly what you want! It was obvious that Belladonna was gonna pull one over on you. (hide spoiler)]

Up to chapter 18: (view spoiler)[ I am getting into this much more now. I found that it took me quite a while to get into this book. All this time travel has hurt my head. I can't wait for Etta and Nicholas to be reunited as I am getting a little bit bored of the switching POVs (hide spoiler)]

Up to chapter 20: (view spoiler)[ I can't believe that Henry might be dead it seems a bit unfair considering Etta only just met him. I can't believe how cold Rose is. I thought Alice was her friend but she still killed her. Poor Etta has had to deal with a lot in a very short space of time. (hide spoiler)]

chapter twenty seven: (view spoiler)[ ok this is so FRUSTRATING i wish etta and nicholas would just talk & collaborate so they all have the correct information. also um SOPHIA AND LI MIN BETTER SORT IT OUT I NEED THEM (hide spoiler)]

finished ! (view spoiler)[ realllyyy liked it. Loved Sophia as a character, and Li Min too. The discussions on race/gender/sexuality were really good. I liked the ending, and pretty much liked the whole thing really. gave it a 4.5* (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[ Overall I liked this book but I didn't enjoy it as much as Passenger. This book was quite slow and I would have preferred if it had been a bit faster paced. I missed seeing Etta and Nicholas together as they were separated for the majority of the book. I was satisfied with the ending but I was expecting a bit more from this book. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[This is just perfect. Thanks to Sophia, a whole lot of time has been wasted, in which Nicholas has been slowly being poisoned, they still don't know anything, they almost got killed twice, and not they've been ratted out. (hide spoiler)]

So much had happened already and I find the perspective/time switch to be a little tricky this time around. I don't think that Rose is as bad or delusional as Henry is saying, but I also think she was kind of crappy as a mom for not coming to Etta after she escaped. (hide spoiler)]

I swear if Henry dies I'm going to be so upset!! Okay, so Rose isn't completely insane because it seems the "shadows" might be real but she is still a shitty mom. (hide spoiler)]

So the shadows are real and this Sun guy is creepy! So, Rose wasn't so crazy afterll but she probably should have been a little more forthcoming. I wonder if Henry is working with the shadows, I hope not! (hide spoiler)]

Well, the epilogue bothered me. I don't see the point in Etta going back to see her mother. I really, really, really don't like the concept of the Astrolabe's powers fading out when Nicholas dies... it makes zero sense to me. And it almost makes me question if it should have been consumed? Because if it had been consumed, could it's powers have been retained for all of time, therefore making Nicholas a guardian to the traveler race? (hide spoiler)]
