Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 102 comments I saw a topic for your most favorite so now let's talk about our least favorites!

I'll break the ice by saying Red Queen for me.

Now let's go to war!

This Kooky Wildflower Loves a Little Tea and Books (alittleteaandbooks) Tampa (No redeeming factor in the main character. Sex (and perverse at that) pretty much defined her.

The Dinner (Despicable folks abound)

Illicit (Boring erotica)

Natalie Grace | 21 comments Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Easily.

Keysia⁷ Herondale 🍉 *kinda ia* (keysia) Steel Scars by Victoria Aveyard - it was just completely unnecessary and irrelevant and, well...bad.

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 102 comments Wasn't Steel Scars about the Red rebel leader? Or am I remembering wrong?

Keysia⁷ Herondale 🍉 *kinda ia* (keysia) Yup, that's the one - Farley, I think.

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 102 comments Why was it unnecessary?

Keysia⁷ Herondale 🍉 *kinda ia* (keysia) I just feel like it was just a means to get another book and she could have morphed everything we needed to know about the Resistance throughout the series. For example, let's take Queen Song. That's a different story, it added depth and understanding to the story that would have seemed stretched to add in the main books. Anyway it's just how I see it - it was not horrible though, I just don't see why we needed another book/novella for it.

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 102 comments I haven't read the novellas yet, but I sorta want to since I'm a glutton for punishment and always finish what I start no matter what.

Keysia⁷ Herondale 🍉 *kinda ia* (keysia) You should read them, Queen Song was good and I liked it and maybe you'll feel differently about Steel Scars. (the reason I said if was the worst book I read last year isn't because it was horrible, but because I mostly read good books in 2016). So do give them a shot :).

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 102 comments Alright but do remember I considered Red Queen the worst thing I read last year, gave it a solid two stars. Hated the characters, the world was a confusing mix-match world of medieval feudalism and a high-tech fantasy world, the plot twist was extremely dumb and predictable, but the plot is interesting at least.

And Glass Sword was slightly better than Red Queen, but only slightly because at least it had some character development and Maxton wasn't in it.

Keysia⁷ Herondale 🍉 *kinda ia* (keysia) Well, at least they're really short, so they won't bother you for long if you hate them :).

Jacob (jacobthebookworm) | 31 comments Frankenstein (required for school) and Breaking Dawn. I read great books this year, so i'm not saying that breaking Dawn was bad, bu that I just didn't enjoy it as much

Elizabeth ♛Smart Girls Love Trashy Books♛ (pinkhairedwannabe) | 102 comments I haven't even read Crown of Midnight yet and with the rate I'm reading these books I should get to Empire of Storms by the time she's already written the thirtieth book in that series.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm supposed to love fantastic beasts, and I gave it a 5 star just because J.K Rowling wrote it, but for some reason I just couldn't connect with the characters and the setting at all. Also it wasn't as magical as the other Harry Potter books she wrote.

message 26: by Grace (new)

Grace Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight. I've given up on that series I HATED these two books. Also The Art of Not Breathing was bad too.

Bella | 23 comments Pride and prejudice, i finally called it a dnf after those horrible 6 months. The only reason I attempted to read this is because my dad read Harry Potter.

I didn't like the cyborg theme and although I really wanted to like the whole Lunar Chronicles series, I couldn't bring myself to finish the first book.

message 40: by lacy (new)

lacy white (ravensandlace) My least favorite was probably A Beautiful Mind . I adored the movie and since I'm a psych major I thought that reading this book would help me to gain insight to schizophrenia.

Alas, it just confused me. I got so caught up in the math terms (which I suck at math) that I couldn't really enjoy the book like I wanted too.

To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Pride and Prejudice either. I think it was the writing. It was my first classic novel that I've read so I think I was unprepared for the flowery language they used back then.

Jill (jillianvarv) | 17 comments Eligible by Curtis Sittenfield. I felt like she used Jane Austen's coattails to launch a rendition which in my opinion was unworthy of the association. There are better "Jane Austen project" novels.

Hayden Casey (haydenmcasey13) i am very lucky in that my 2016 was full of books i really liked. maybe i'm just getting to be a good chooser in my old age. ;)
