Raj Acharya | 1 comments Hi,

My son is 11 years old and is a complete bookaholic (parents are not) . His reading level is highschool level and reads young adult books only since last 1-2 years.

I am in search for good story book or series which focuses on developing good character. He plays tennis but when he loose simple points he becomes very angry then looses his focus on the game completely (this is just one example). I want book suggestion which teaches him sportsmanship and value of hard work and value of failure in long run.

He loves fantasy books like Harry potter, lord of the rings, rick riordan, hunger games and many other serious..

Unfortunately, as a parents we can't suggest him books as we never had interest in fantasy books so I am trying my best to find good story line where he can learn and enjoy at the same time.....

Thank you

X. Culletto | 25 comments I would highly, highly recommend the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan. Very well-written fantasy series with exceptional moral and character development. I seriously can't say enough good things about this series!

Evelyn | 142 comments Ooh he plays tennis? I'd recommend the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. Lots of people say that it's very similar to LOTR, and it's also fantasy. :)

M.G. Nelson Might I recommend my book The Telling Mirror? I've had three boys (10-11) tell me they really enjoyed it! https://www.amazon.com/Telling-Mirror...The Telling Mirror

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 36 comments Wolf Brother would be an excellent choice. A great series that my daughter enjoy at a similar age, and that i enjoyed as an adult. Maybe have a look at Inkheart too.
