heh heh. the best would be to build consensus on a few topics that all interested parties would be enthusiastic about.
great start, Marissa! i'll try to think of high-level knowledge areas. maybe the library non-fiction areas would be good.
As I believe that the following have the biggest impact on humanity, I'd be the most interested them:
Democracy
Economics
System Collapse/Failure -- although we should identify a specific system failure like the 2009 financial meltdown.
Education
Employment
Social justice
we should set a time/date limit for brainstorming. maybe Sunday? Most people are most active on the weekends, right?
after that, i can throw all the topics into a google docs spreadsheet and we can start to tally up our interest areas. I was thinking of approval voting wherein a single person can check/vote for all of the topics that they'd be interested in and we pick one that the most people are interested in. hopefully, there would be at least one that everyone was interested in.
Gender constructs
Altruism
Punishment vs rehabilitation
The death penalty
Xenophobia
