That is weird. I don't think there's anything odd about it. If anything it's light compared to others I see. Maybe I should play about with it.

That's so exciting! Good luck with everything :) You'll have to let me know how it goes! Hopefully the closing process is much easier over your way than in the US.

TBH I'm currently rethinking my decision. I've lived in the same place for the last 35 years so the thought of moving away has really got me panicked. It's also a new build so I would literally have to buy everything including carpets, blinds, white goods so not sure it's worth it. It takes me months to pick one thing never mind fully furnishing a house.

Have you managed to get settled in yet or are you still living in box city?

Mostly box city. With as stressful as actually closing and getting into the house was, we gave ourselves last week off. I ended up getting SOME stuff done, but I'm going to actually get down to business this week :)

It doesn't help that we don't have a dresser or much furniture at all (really all we have is a bed and a couch), so we have nowhere to put the stuff that we're unpacking.

Letting my American show here... but what in the world are white goods?

White goods are your kitchen appliances, so refrigerator, washing machine etc. Unfortunately all the ones in my flat are built in so I can't take them with me.

I've only moved once and that was from my parents house to my flat and I had next to nothing. Thankfully the couple I was buying from were super nice and left me stuff (it's 10 years later and I still have some of the mountain of light bulbs).

I don't remember much of the process but everything went smoothly although I may just have been lucky. My brother was trying yo buy a house last year and it fell through because the owners had made alterations without planning permission.

That all sounds so stressful , I'm kind of glad I have years to go before buying a house. My boyfriend and I are renting an apartment and buying all the furniture we want is taking forever.
I was actually looking at houses today online but it just confirmed that I have years to go haha real state is super expensive in my city :(

In other news, I got a job interview!! It's for a job only one day a week but it's related to what I studied so at least it's something!
As far as reading goes, haven't read much because my boyfriend is off all week from work because it's "tourism week" holidays which sounds weird lol(I actually just googled why it's called like that and it happened when the state separated from the church and changed it from Holy Week to that so little bit of Uruguayan random knowledge for you haha).
Will finish a book tonight hopefully!

Congrats, on the interview. Experience relevant to what you want to do is always useful when it comes time to finding something full time.

I'd never heard of Tourism week, but then I know next to nothing about Uruguay. I have to admit one of the things I love about GoodReads and team challenges is learning about different places. I'm such a nosy person I find it fascinating :)

Thanks! That's what I'm thinking, at least it will be experience which will be valuable in the future when applying for jobs!

It's not a book I've ever attempted. I was thinking about getting the audio as apparently it's been extended or something but not sure. I have a free trial from audible to take so trying to decide which book would be best to use it on.

Just finished which took me a lot longer than it should have. I really couldn't focus on it for some reason, not helped by starting to watch 13 Reasons Why on Netflix

I haven't finished anything today but I'm around 70% through my current read and started two others.

It's been a good book stuff day today. Went to see Laini Taylor this morning and the book I've been waiting on finally came into the library.

Hi All and Happy Easter.

There is an Easter Egg Hunt/Mini Challenge starting in just over an hour (you can find details in the Uno folder).

Basically it's a hunt through the team threads for Easter Eggs each of which has some tasks attached. I've started my hunt and have updated an early post with the tasks (I'll copy down here once we have them all) and I'm in the process of updating the tracking sheet/team sheet.

If you're in the mood for a hunt (I'm getting hungry so may take a break) let me know what you find. One of the tasks is to wish all of the other teams a Happy Easter so let me know if you're feeling Eastery and would like to volunteer to do some of the teams (I think the best bet is to split them).

Thanks Avid and Danielle. All of our answers have been submitted so we should find out soon what the tasks are.

On the actual reading tasks, I was thinking it might be best to target the smaller ones first i.e. with only three tasks. There's bonus points for completing each group so that would let us max out points with least number of books. Plus the longer ones seem to be mostly spell it outs which are generally easier.

I go fort there smaller ones but my reading list is pretty set already.

I only have two books I'm planning on reading at the moment so later when I have some time I will pick the rest of the books for the month and add them!

Do you guys think this could work for book with a garden on the cover?

Also would it count as yellow cover? I would think so but color extractor says its mostly brown and green so not sure.
