I had to redo my count during part 2 because I was one book ahead. That was a pleasant surprise. Way better than one behind. ;o)

TASK 6 COMPLETE Oct 2017
44/50 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
6. What is your favourite book? Pillars of the earth Read it again. Or, read a book that has the same title. Or read a book by the same author.
I read Whiteout, one of Follitts recent thrillers. It has none of the magic of The Pillars of the Earth. This man a fascination with female pubic hair that noticeably recur in his work and is slightly disturbing!

TASK 10 COMPLETE Oct 2017
45/50 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
10. Are you right or left handed? Right – Read a book with that word in the title.
I read Let the Right One In. It wasn't as good as I'd hoped.
FIVE TO GO - I'M GETTING EXCITED

Do you have nice books planned for your final 5?

The book I'm most looking forward to is City of Dragons so I will save that for last. The other 3 should be good . Still trying to get hold of the audio of The Snow Child. It has been "in transit"from the library for over a month now and I am starting to suspect it is lost in the system!
Do you have anything nice saved up for a grand finale?

Not really. I'm reading And the Mountains Echoed now which I had high expectations for (and so far it lives up to them), but that was not the reason I left it for so late in the challenge. Also reading Tipping the Velvet which I'm really enjoying. I was afraid that it might be a bit slow or long-winded, but it isn't.
The other 3 books are nothing special (I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy them, but it's not like they're from a favourite series or author or something. They are left-over for the challenge because I haven't been in the mood for them lately. For two of the remaining tasks I have multiple books to choose from.

I read

TASK 14 COMPLETE Oct 2017
47/50 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
14. What is something you use daily? (brush, computer, car, get creative) toilet
I read The Dry.
Justification: I use the toilet many times each day to relieve myself. Using the toilet involves 2 steps: 1) the release 2) the dry
After each use The Dry is critical to avoid nasty soreness :-O
Janice - I await your ruling on this ;-)

Lucky I decided to copy you Peggy and start my final list. I discovered I was cheating!! I counted the same book for task 24 and 43 for which both of my answers related to ancient Egypt. On the bright side, it's great to looking for book for this challenge again ;-)

I was just looking at this book in my TBR list. I was looking at my list of books set in Australia or by Australian authors for the monthly challenge. Everything I have is too long and the one I really want to read is not available - I am not sure if it is still in print any more. Most of the ones that are short enough, are unfortunately classified children's.
I was about ready to send congratulations and I read the rest of your posts. OH, back to the gophering I see.

Only 4 more to go!

14. What is something you use daily? (brush, computer, car, get creative) toilet ."
ROFL! My imagination has taken flight. Toilets in Ireland have driers? Here, we just have toilet paper. (Just kidding)
How can I refuse such an imaginative justification. :)

As much as I like that image Janice (its a of a mind bender lol) sadly we also do the drying stage with loo roll and a good wipe ;-p

I had a back up if Janice didn't approve that one. It was A Game of Thrones but I'm not sure if other countries refer to the going to the loo as being "on the throne"!
I think I will be more careful how I answer surveys in the future lol

We have are spoilt now ;-)

When we went to New Orleans (in March, the year of Katrina), we went to Slidell to visit some people my parents knew. One man was a bit eccentric and had the most interesting house. He had a "throne room", complete with a "throne" up on a dais. You had to climb about 4 steps up to perch on it. That had to be one of the weirdest experiences for me. We always wondered how he fared during the hurricane.

OMG that must have been really weird!
So GOT would have made it through as well eh? That has been on my shelve much longer but I was putting off reading it til I'd forgotten the series a bit. I think I can safely shedule it for next year ;-)

TASK 13 COMPLETE Oct 2017
47/50 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
41. Issue you are passionate about (abortion, euthanasia, animal rights… etc) disabled access Read a book where this issue is prominent or is represented in some way. It may be fiction or non-fiction.
I read The Silkworm. The main character, Strike, is an amputee and the problems and frustrations of disability in everyday life are well represented in this story.

TASK 13 COMPLETE Oct 2017
48/50 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
27. Do you have a tattoo? No but if I did it would be a dragon, so I read City of Dragons.
Unfortunately it was a bit of a "filler" book - no real advancement the series so what was the point? 2*.

TASK 24 COMPLETE NOV 2017
49/50 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
24. Name a place you’d like to visit. Pyramids
I listened to Pyramids. I had read this book years ago, this was my first time listening. Every bit as good :-)

TASK 29 COMPLETE NOV 2017
50/50 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
29. What is your favourite flower? Snow drop
I read The Snow Child. I am always amazed at the toughness of this little snow drop which manages to thrive harsh conditions which would kill most flowers. The little girl in this book is so similar. She is tougher than she looks!
AND THIS COMPLETES MY 2017 CHALLENGE *HAPPY DANCE*

Congrats! Awesome job!
I bought the newest book by the author of The Snow Child (To The Bright Edge of the World) a few weeks ago and plan to read it for the 2018 challenge.

@peggy - Someone mentioned that book to me today. I m still book hunting for next year but i am hoping that one will slot in somewhere. i loved her writing style.
