Poet : Edward Davies
The best laid schemes of mice and men
Gang aft agley, it’s said
That is if you believe the words
Of Burns, who’s long since dead
He told his tale to try to give
Regrets of such a class
To a poor mouse who lost his house
That sat amongst the grass
He tried to make the real attempt
At explaining his deeds
He didn’t know the mouse was there
Tucked up amongst the weeds
So mousey tried to build its home
On land it thought quite sound
But things predictably go wrong
When man gets on the ground
