Beyond Reality discussion

This thread is for those who are planning on reading The Martian by Andy Weir.

I am starting it today.

I'm planning to join in, as soon as my copy arrives from the library. I've heard great things about it.

I've got a digital copy from the library (The paper waiting list is quite long!) and intend to start very soon.

I started it last night, and so far am really liking it. It's funnier than I expected it to be, given the plotline!

Got it out from the library yesterday.

This is one of my favorite books of this year :). I just love my protagonists smart and snarky.

I think it's part that we are getting the log, which allows some emotional distance and, instead of giving his straight reactions, allows him to filter them a bit, taking into consideration perhaps that his crewmates might read them.

I read this as an ARC and loved it. Recommended it to everyone I knew who read Science Fiction and featured it on my blog.

I started this last night and am really enjoying it so far.

After reading the opening lines I was worried the author was going to try to hard to be "edgy" and that it would get annoying--but that turned out, at least as far as I have read, not to be the case.

I'm enjoying it.

I wanted to read this one and discovered this week that I mysteriously already own the ebook. (Pretty sure a friend pointed me toward it back when it was self-published for free on his site.) So I didn't intend to read it right away but I'll be joining in the discussion in a couple weeks!

I started reading the ebook yesterday. I don't really care for first person narratives, but this one is keeping my interest ... for now.

Found this in the library and the opening caught my attention. Can't put it down now!
