In joining this review group you have agreed to review the novels assigned to you on a two month schedule. This group is now in the review phase and is no longer open for sign up.

This is a Full length Fantasy round, covering all aspects of Fantasy. As with other review groups, you will be expected to read and give an honest review of the books assigned to you. Assignments will be made after the group sign-up has filled.

Participants are expected to post reviews to Goodreads. The review should be posted to Amazon (US and UK) as well, if the book is available there. This makes having accounts with both Goodreads and Amazon.com a requirement.

Contact the authors you are scheduled to review to arrange to receive a review copy of their work. Note that Amazon has made a minor change in how reviews are displayed. As long as a review that is not verified as a purchase is recent, it will be displayed on the book's Amazon page. Once it rolls off, it will still be counted in the ranking of the book, but the link to show more reviews has been modified by Amazon to show only reviews that come from verified purchases. Authors may consider gifting their book to assigned reviewers so that they will qualify as verified purchases. Reviewers may bypass this limitation by offering to purchase the books assigned to them. All of this is voluntary. Authors may still provide review copies for free, and reviewers can still post reviews to Amazon that are not from a verified purchase. This change in Amazon policy has no effect on Goodreads.

Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews.

If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator.

If your book has not been reviewed by the deadline for either round, contact the review group moderator. This is necessary to make certain that the review process is fair for everyone.

Note that any participant who makes no effort to fulfill his or her commitment to this group will have all reviews of his or her work resulting from this group deleted and his or her membership in the Genre Specific Review Group will be terminated.

A.J. Culey (ajculey) | 88 comments I'd like to join with Sehmah's Truth

Christy Nicholas has already reviewed it for a different group. However, she could review the 2nd book if need be.

Ryan Troske has also reviewed a book of mine, but not this one.

Thank you, A.J, I shall add you. The latter isn't a problem, Ryan can review you again with this book, if I schedule that way. But I will try and separate Christy and yourself.

That's it folks.... this round is now full. If there are any more conflicts, please let me know before I start scheduling. If there are, I may need to find 1 or 2 more people to join the round.

message 10: by Christy (new)

Christy Nicholas (greendragon9) | 104 comments You added Legacy of Truth (book 2) rather than Legacy of Hunger (book 1). Either is fine. Or Legacy of Luck (book 3). They work as standalone novels. :)

I have changed it =)... apologies, my dear =).

message 12: by Christy (new)

Christy Nicholas (greendragon9) | 104 comments No worries - they all need reviews :) But I'm hoping to push Legacy of Hunger to the mark that Bookbub will consider it some day!

message 13: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 758 comments Mod
I've heard that Bookbub are very hardcore when it comes to accepting books, even if they are good reads.

message 14: by Ryan (new)

Ryan Troske | 94 comments They are indeed. I just wish they'd give an exact reason why a book is rejected rather than the generic "things to consider" that they send out.

message 15: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 758 comments Mod
There must be a logic there somewhere.

message 16: by Ryan (new)

Ryan Troske | 94 comments I imagine it's simply because of the sheer number of submissions they receive and the time it would take to respond to each individual one. Still sucks though.

message 17: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 758 comments Mod
It does indeed. While I have you here, are there any conflicts for you? Has anyone reviewed you before, or have reviewed anyone here before?

message 18: by Christy (new)

Christy Nicholas (greendragon9) | 104 comments I've been submitting to Bookbub every month for the last year for my books (as each one comes out). Never got a nibble yet. But my book with the most reviews (Legacy of Hunger) has 33 reviews. The ones I've seen they DO accept usually have at least 100 reviews. So, the long slog continues...

message 19: by Ryan (new)

Ryan Troske | 94 comments I've reviewed a book of AJ Culey's before, different book though. No real conflict if she doesn't mind me possibly reviewing another.

message 20: by Ryan (new)

Ryan Troske | 94 comments Man, gonna take forever to get 100+ reviews. Especially when Amazon keeps randomly deleted them. I've had at least five 5-star reviews randomly disappear over the last month. Talk about frustrating.

message 21: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 758 comments Mod
Okay! If there are no more conflicts I shall start with scheduling. I will give a day just to be certain, as my timeline maybe different to some of yours.

message 22: by J.B. (new)

They randomly delete the legitimate 5 stars, but both myself and a few people on facebook have gotten some bogus 1 stars that have nothing to do with the book by people who have never read it. Amazon's response is generally "this is within our guidelines"

message 23: by Christy (new)

Christy Nicholas (greendragon9) | 104 comments Yeah, I've had the same thing happen with both. It's incredibly frustrating!

message 24: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 758 comments Mod
Hi guys, should we start a comment thread on this elsewhere, as this is a legitimate concern of everyone's? We should really keep this thread free of topics other than the reviewing schedule and whether there are any conflicts. Apologies for being a killjoy, and all =).

I can set up a thread for this topic now, and you can redirect all your concerns on this matter to that particular thread, what do you reckon?

Same here!
Only my 1 star disappeared after awhile. Sure wish my 5 star had come back : (

You should be fine to review this one of A.J's

As there are no other conflicts other than the ones mentioned. I will be setting the schedule tonight. I will set the provisional reviewing date as this coming Monday, but as you know, you can start as soon as the schedule goes up...enjoy the round guys.

L.N. Denison | 758 comments Mod
This group is now reviewing, please let me know if there is still any conflicts, and I will rearrange the assignments. A.J, I have paired you with Ryan again, as he hasn't read the book you are offering for review.

message 33: by Christy (new)

Christy Nicholas (greendragon9) | 104 comments I just bought both of mine. Looking forward to the reading :)

message 34: by J.B. (new)

J.B. Trepagnier (jbtrepagnier) Are we supposed to be contacting the people we are reading and those reviewing us to send copies or purchasing on Amazon? I've never reviewed in one of these rounds before

message 35: by Christy (new)

Christy Nicholas (greendragon9) | 104 comments You can do it either way. I always contact those to make the offer of a free copy. But Amazon is so capricious about yanking unverified reviews, I feel better buying the book myself to make it more likely to stay posted.

message 36: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 758 comments Mod
Yeah, what Christy said =D. Actually, I think it states it up top =)

message 37: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 758 comments Mod
Also, if you have Kindle Unlimited, you get the book that way. It may not show as a verified review, as the the book is technically, borrowed, but your review will not be removed doing it this way.

message 38: by J.B. (new)

J.B. Trepagnier (jbtrepagnier) I've purchased both of my books to review. I think both people who are reviewing mine have purchased. If you are reviewing me and didn't, I'll get you whatever format you want

message 39: by A.J. (new)

A.J. Culey (ajculey) | 88 comments I've received both my books and am looking forward to reading them!
