My highest rated was Sister Mine, which got some attention in 2013, was a five star read for me. It's about conjoined twins who are separated but only one ends up with magic.

I enjoyed the short stories Falling in Love with Hominids because they show her wide range. I started Midnight Robber during a book speed date and mean to go back.

The New Moon's Arms was a three star read for me. It is set in an unnamed Caribbean island and features an aging woman. I read it while on the ocean so that was a bonus.

Joanna Chaplin | 1175 comments Once my ear got used to the pidgin of the audiobook of Midnight Robber, I loved the worldbuilding. Such a vibrant colony with mutated Caribbean customs. When I do timing math in my, I think some of the details don't make sense, and there's still unfortunate inequalities (because there are still humans) but they are different than the ones I am used to.
