SOS: Serious Overload of Series discussion

Goodreads has finally added rereading so we can indicate a book as reread and have it count toward the current reading challenge.

Me too. There's a banner at the top of the Home Page, but not at the top of the Community pages. I thought there was a good chance people who have bookmarked Discussions, etc would miss it.

It works for me. I am adding the books that I have re-read since starting challenges so that I can be sure not to accidentally read a book more than once during a challenge.

Exactly, I never go to the Home Page any more.

One thing I don't like about the feature is that I cannot show which format I read/re-read. Before the feature was available, I was choosing the format and adding it to my read shelf with a note in review box saying it was a re-read + I have a 'my re-reads' shelf. You can now show add'l dates read, but they all have be for the same format to use the feature. Sometimes I'll read the book, but listen in my re-read or visa versa. Now, I'm making note in my review box about which format read/re-read, if they differ.

You can use the private notes section - just add the date & format.

Is it just me... or is anyone having troubles with books being double selected? It seems that about the time this featured appeared that I started having issues when reading and reviewing a book then discovering I still had another version "to be read". Starting to drive me crazy and I'm pretty OCD about keeping my kindle, audio and paperbacks marked correctly. I've no longer take short cuts with the drop downs to change status, I open - verify format and still seem to have this issue...

I don't think I've had that problem, Lis. I've gone through all of my re-reads and utilized GR's re-read option, but I don't like that I can't select a different format for my re-read. Like you, I am pretty OCD about keeping my read format correctly marked. But, with this feature, you can't - for example - mark first read as kindle edition and re-read as audio, at least not within the same review b/c reviews are by format. Not sure that makes sense, but as a visual fix I've made note within the review box which format was read each time.

If you continue to notice that problem, Lis, I'd post on GR's feedback group for assistance. Maybe it's a bug or something they can help you resolve.
